@ElGatoVolador you should always try to download and test someone's design. If you have time to build and upload then you have time to download and test as well. It literally only takes a few minutes to check out someone's work and leave your thoughts about it. What is 2 to 5 minutes of your time vs potentially dozens of hours that someone has put into a build. It is a bit disheartening to have a piece of work that you may have put much time and effort into be upvoted based on three pictures and the fact that someone follows you.

And I enjoy seeing a user's opinion on a design whether I recognize them or not. Whether that opinion is on something that I have made or something that someone else has made.

Everyone's opinion and point of view is different, but equally important.

@UnknownNate and feel free to take a stab at what I'm requesting here. I understand that it isn't the kind of build that everyone would be comfortable with... but I won't be judging the builds so much as I will be enjoying them.

  • The importance of... 9.2 years ago

@Jackie too late, @HellFireKoder already beat you to that joke. Sorry buddy.

  • Calling all car builders 9.2 years ago

@UnknownNate it's looking pretty good so far. I'd like to see the finished product for sure. Be sure to tag me when you're done and I'll definitely give it a look.

@HellFireKoder you are a smart a** of the highest caliber, and I enjoy it very much. Carry on.

  • Calling all car builders 9.2 years ago

@humangrenade I suppose you're right technically. But when I think late 60's Camaro the words "American Muscle" come to mind before "Sports". But I suppose the Super Sport aspect of it would lend itself to your point.

  • Do-400-B Posiedon 9.2 years ago

Nah, it doesn't suck at all man. This thing is huge! I almost had to boot up the laptop to check it out, lol. It's got a nice look. I like the way it handles too, it feels as large as it is and I feel like I actually have to fly it. Well done buddy, I like it.

  • Calling all car builders 9.2 years ago

@KingDeadshot there's no time limit or anything. If you do try it just make sure you make it a successor to the link I left. That way I will get a notification for it.

Nice plane man. Looks great, flies great. I like the way you made the gear work as well. Well done.

  • :( whats the secret! 9.2 years ago

My advice is this: Try to make something cool and unique. Those of us that have been here for a while have seen almost everything under the sun multiple times.
Spend more time than you need to on your builds. The things that impress me are designs that have intricate mechanics, or are heavily detailed. Both of those things take a lot of time. When I see that sort of stuff, I know the user put a lot of time and thought into the build.
If you are going to build a replica, try to make it as exact and detailed as possible. Try to include every line, every object, every shape, every curve that you can. If you're going to make something that has been done before then try to do it better than anyone else has.
Again, I can't stress how important it is to put time into your designs. If you think you're done with it then save it and come back to it tomorrow. Chances are you're going to notice something that isn't quite right, or you're going to want to add something else. Time and effort are really the two biggest things here. If I can tell that someone hasn't put time or effort into their design from the pictures, chances are that I'm not even going to download it.

Hey man, you uploaded the same thing 3 times in the last few minutes. Could you remove 2 of them please?

  • maus i made for some 1 9.2 years ago

You can't make next to no changes to something and then upload it. It doesn't matter if your friend says that you can do it or not. It's against the website rules. If you want to upload an unlisted version then that is fine. But you cannot upload copied designs publicly.

  • How Many Hours Do YOU Take To Build a Plane? 9.2 years ago

@spefyjerbf no problem. It would be cool if you could create "chains" with sets of detachers that have a delay time that you could edit.

  • Need tail wheel. 9.2 years ago

@TheOwlAce sure thing man. Now, reflect on some of what we've talked about this evening. Give it some good thought, use some of it for inspiration and drive. And then take that and use it in the editor. When you think you've got something really good that you're super proud of... tag me when you upload it and I'll give it a look and let you know what I think.

  • How Many Hours Do YOU Take To Build a Plane? 9.2 years ago

@lowjames123 regardless, it's going to take some time before you are able to reach a level inside the editor that you are pleased with.

  • How Many Hours Do YOU Take To Build a Plane? 9.2 years ago

@lowjames123 you joined 8 hours ago... it's like everything else, hardly anyone is awesome at it when they first start.

  • Need tail wheel. 9.2 years ago

@TheOwlAce sure, it's better than ok. It's good. I haven't downloaded anything and taken a real close look, but having scrolled through your catalog of designs it looks like you've got some good stuff in there.

  • Need tail wheel. 9.2 years ago

@TheOwlAce make different things. Not that I am an example of an amazing builder... but if you look at my uploads nearly all of them are different from the last. People like seeing things they haven't seen before, and they like seeing realistic and detailed desings. One thing that I personally like seeing is a full sized and fully operational design. Full cockpits, and deign that offer a first person experience. It's really cool and immersing to loom around and feel like I'm sitting inside of something. Or if someone has done really cool things mechanical with all of the cool rotators and pistons. I'm not saying that you specifically have to do any of that stuff, but those are the types of things that I like to see.

  • I made a challenge! 9.2 years ago

Thanks for your understanding buddy, I appreciate it.

  • Need tail wheel. 9.2 years ago

@TheOwlAce that is certainly understandable. But you will get nowhere by cursing and demanding things. If you're playing this game and uploading desings just to get upvotes then you're going about it the wrong way. Build for you, upload for you. As long as you're having fun and you like what you make then that is the most important part. If other people like it and upvote it, then that is cool. But if they don't, then that is ok too. I see that nearly all of your desings have at least a few votes on them. That isn't too bad. My advice would be to try to build something that you haven't seen built before. And if it has been built then do it better than anyone else has. Spend way more time on your designs than you feel like you need to. One of my favorite parts of appreciating a really good build is checking it out and imagining the hours and hours of hard work that it must have taken to achieve what it is that I'm looking at. At any rate getting mad and yelling and cursing at people isn't going to do you any favors, and could even get you banned from here. You don't want to do that, and none of the mods ever want to ban someone.

  • How Many Hours Do YOU Take To Build a Plane? 9.2 years ago

And the answer to the second part of your post is "no, that isn't possible through xml editing."

  • Wai tho? 9.2 years ago

Drawing attention to such things is nearly as damaging as those types of posts and comments are to begin with. The best course of action is to alert the moderators and let them deal with the situation, and not to begin a discussion about things that are undeserving of the time or energy required to have said discussion.

  • Need tail wheel. 9.2 years ago

@TheOwlAce you have every right to be frustrated, but how you manifest that frustration is key. You will attract no one, and potentially lose the attention of people who already follow you by he having in such a way. That is really unacceptable man... there is a saying "You will catch more flies with honey than you will with vinegar." Also "Be like a duck, let the water roll off ya." I think it would be in your best interest to spend a little time considering both of those things.

  • How Many Hours Do YOU Take To Build a Plane? 9.2 years ago

As I have progressed I find that I spend more and more time on my builds. On the Dornier Do 335 and the Big Rig uploads can safely assume that I have put dozens of hours into each of those builds. It wouldn't surprise me one bit if I had 30+ hrs into either of those.

  • Need tail wheel. 9.2 years ago
