I don't much care for lengthy flights, so I'd pick Loganair. They run the world's shortest flight between EGEP and EGEW, a trek that takes only 2 minutes on average. further reading
Space already kinda exists. At a certain altitude, the air is too thin for control surfaces to work, and your plane preserves its momentum, only being affected by gravity. All that needs to be done is implement engine failure.
The aspect ratio of the American flag is 10:19. The proportions for length and width here more closely resemble El Salvador's flag.
Otherwise very nice.
There is a large surplus of lightnings. Practically everyone makes one at some point. It's like a rite of passage almost. That and A-10s. If I had a dollar for every A-10 I've seen...
Anyway, I never get tired of seeing new Lightnings. The P-38 is my favorite plane!
Make a plane that flies in the opposite direction it looks like it should. Like imagine seeing a 747 flying by backwards. Call it the Ruse-Cruise or something.
Move the main wings farther back and make them bigger.
Also shorten the tail a little bit.
Press space to see the mass/lift/thrust centers. Ensure the blue ball is behind the red ball.
@Shmexysmpilot I'd argue that adding new parts would only raise the bar on the potential for the highest level builds. You'd have more tools to work with, and could make something even more amazing. Being afraid of changes is what stagnates a metagame.
@Pyroplane @Shmexysmpilot Yes. You can always ALWAYS build a workaround for something you don't have, but then you end up stuffing hundreds of parts into something, and before you know it, mobile users can't handle it. Creating new single specific parts makes those fancy features more viable and accessible to those whose machines can't handle lot of parts, and those with not a lot of skill for building.
You can make lumber from trees, but it's quicker to buy it from the lumber yard. You know?
You can toy around with any of my creations.
I've got hundreds to choose from.
I never was happy with the paintjob on my Muscleplane.
I would love it if you made it look really good.
@zed Three nice looking planes in rapid succession. It's you alright. Nice to see you back!
@zed Oh cool, Hello again!
I've built like 5 P-38s. I seriously cannot get enough of that plane.
@DeezDucks Ah, the HVAR pylons. That means it's a P-38L.
I would like to see an Allison V-1710.
That would be groovy.
I particularly like how supportive and willing to help each other everyone is.
Hardest thing I've done was getting my Updraft to behave as intended. It turned out great. The thing is capable of all sorts of creative maneuvers.
@AntiSphere No prob
I have one on my lightning (It's the bigger one in the middle). I modeled all its properties after a Hispano-Suiza HS.404.
@DeezDucks Which variant are you basing your design on? It looks most similar to a P-38J, but there's not enough small details to tell for sure.
That's an expert landing right there. The way you used your aircraft's stall to set it down right where you wanted it? Masterful.
@JTM55 The airports are on two different islands.
@JTM55 1.48 NM
I often see posts about Islamic holidays and observances.

@DeezDucks This one looks really nice. I look forward to seeing the final version.
@Treadmill103 Yes thank you. Having the ability to have equal upward lift for both orientations was central to this concept.
@JTM55 Thanks!

@SHCow Someone will make a better one eventually. I hope so at least. I can't chill on the Lightning throne forever. :P
cough
factory fresh unpainted aluminum.
Pretty clever.
@Treadmill103 @Ihatelava123 @mikoyanster Thanks.
@SHCow Kind of like a JDAM.
@Treadmill103 Thanks
@Liquidfox Thank you!
@CptPandy I didn't even mention the circular stars. lol

@Treadmill103 Thanks Tread! Glad you like it.

Yes. The collision mesh is really weird in that spot though, so it's difficult to use that spot as a good saved location.

1220 parts.
Rest in peace my framerate.
There's quite a few non-default parts in this.
Pretty sure the challenge calls for drag-and-drop only.
No editing allowed.
@BaconAircrafts Is a mod considered modding? I'd say so.
@Tully2001 Yeah. The shuttle's wings do actually offset a bit of its own mass.
I should start a catalog of all these Lightnings.

The plane from Jurassic Park III was a Beechcraft Super King Air 200.
@SHCow lol I never watch the anime. Games only for me.
@SHCow You like Pokemon?
@poenix Did you use the pitch-assist rotators, or did you fly it with them off?
@Treadmill103 I'm sure it will be impressive. You don't upload often, but when you do, it's quality work.
@Treadmill103 Thanks! And with only 37 parts, it's very mobile-friendly. Putting the "simple" back in SimplePlanes.
