@Csisguy I haven't, no spoilers! I'm away to see it on Tuesday though, and the hype is real. Oh do you mean the ones AgnesDesign did? Those are amazing, I was going to update my own one until I saw those and decided that it was worth it hahaha
@Csisguy I got the PC version for beta testing and went a little bit mad with the newfound power hahaha. I think a couple of my planes got used in videos by some YouTube channels or something. I'm glad to see you're still here. Have you been able to try the new update?
Edit: Click here for Authros' original, now that I know where it is
I couldn't find the actual plane, and while the replicas the GINGER007 posted are pretty good, the details are a little off. I just made you one instead.
@TomServo it sounds like you've thought this through well, I'm excited to see how it goes down. I'll try to create something good for it. Just a couple of questions:
Is XML editing permitted?
Is there a limit on the number of engines we can use?
@General360 hahaha nice. I guess you've seen the bird strike tests too? I always found those pretty entertaining. This one gets bonus points for both slow motion and Ride of the Valkyries
@General360 this break test is pretty fun. But yes, you're totally right, some flex is unavoidable, especially with larger wings. Just not like this, hopefully haha
If you want to make this a lot easier, try using a couple of VTOL engines. The nozzles can be rotated nice and quickly, and then you can use the same engine for forward power as well as brakes.
@Viper28 the ones that have names starting with "ai" are normally only used by the AI in the scenarios and challenges, but you can get them easily. Here is an album
@Sofa no problem. It would be really nice, but unfortunately it's not there for now. We'll just have to work with what we've got. It gets pretty easy once you're used to it, though - with the exception of rotations, those always suck haha
If you're on PC, the nudge controls are what you're looking for. These are operated by the number pad. Beyond that (and this one works on Android too), most of the seemingly impossible designs you see are done with XML editing. Every plane is saved as a human-readable XML file (C:\Users[you]\AppData\LocalLow\Jundroo\SimplePlanes\AircraftDesigns for PC), and you can tweak everything as finely as you want in there
3) They are supposed to be placed inside the wing with the barrel sticking out. If you were putting them underneath or something like that, they won't connect.
@lucky oh, I made the X-wing haha! Okay this is actually a lot easier than I thought. All you need to do is open SimplePlanes, find the "download planes" button in the game, and download them through there. That should be all. Both of them work just fine on my phone, which has the totally standard game
@lucky don't worry about your English, it's pretty good. Can you give me links to the mod and the plane? I'll write out a guide to show you exactly what to do
@lucky okay, where is each thing saved? The mod needs to be in the mods folder, then enabled. After that, you can download the plane through the in-game Steam browser
Click the "download planes" button in the game, on the same screen as the "build and fly" part. It'll open the Steam in-game browser, and you can download from there
@FlightDucky20 you don't need inlets if the front of the engine is uncovered like this. The front of every engine is also an inlet.
@Phill inlets don't work if they're obstructed or backwards, but as I said to Ducky, the front of the engine also acts as an inlet, so it's okay in this case.
@Jetspeed1001 you need to be able to access the AircraftData folder in your game, which is think is only possible on Android and PC but I may be wrong. Anyway, if you find Jundroo\SimplePlanes\AircraftDesigns, you can open the files for your planes and edit them in a text editor
@Viper28 besides one-on-one dogfighting with an AI opponent (and you can have the AI fly your plane too, if you want), there is:
hunting slow-moving drones, one level with missiles and one with guns
bombing ground targets
a night raid bombing the bridges and a pair of AA tanks
a two-on-one WWII dogfight, so no missiles or jets allowed.
The AI pilots crash quite a lot, but they're fairly good with the guns. Missiles are bloody hard to avoid unless you've got an extremely high-performance plane. Gun fights are definitely the most exciting, in my book
@Austinowen if you're playing on mobile or low graphics, you won't get the super-shiny effects, unfortunately. I'm afraid there's nothing I can do about that
@Krathar nah man it was only a minor thing, don't stress over it. I'm not sure why it needed to be symmetric rather than flat bottomed, though, that was weird
@Csisguy I haven't, no spoilers! I'm away to see it on Tuesday though, and the hype is real. Oh do you mean the ones AgnesDesign did? Those are amazing, I was going to update my own one until I saw those and decided that it was worth it hahaha
@lucky @SalemASaberhagen @GINGER007 cheers!
@Csisguy here's one, (go to five minutes in if the link doesn't take you there). My Taranis got shown somewhere else but I can't find it
@Csisguy hey so long as you're having fun, that's all that counts. I'll see if I can find them
@grizzlitn @General360 thanks guys

@dsr1aviation Well, also I want to be able to use my planes on my phone hahaha
@General360 hahaha nice. I guess you've seen the bird strike tests too? I always found those pretty entertaining. This one gets bonus points for both slow motion and Ride of the Valkyries
@TheLatentImage well I'll call that a success. Thanks!
@General360 this break test is pretty fun. But yes, you're totally right, some flex is unavoidable, especially with larger wings. Just not like this, hopefully haha
For anyone wanting the regular, non-floppy version of this, it's here
@AeroEngineering
I promise that anything I upload will come with an unarmed version, hopefully everyone can do that
@Engineer69 I managed to take off backwards without modding it! Crashed pretty soon afterwards, of course, but it still counts hahaha
If you want to make this a lot easier, try using a couple of VTOL engines. The nozzles can be rotated nice and quickly, and then you can use the same engine for forward power as well as brakes.
@Viper28 well only four, really, the rest are for the AI
@Viper28 the ones that have names starting with "ai" are normally only used by the AI in the scenarios and challenges, but you can get them easily. Here is an album
@Engineer69 I can fix that...
Could be pretty useful for anyone struggling with the challenge to land on the USS Tiny. Also I want to try and fly it backwards with this
@Sofa no problem. It would be really nice, but unfortunately it's not there for now. We'll just have to work with what we've got. It gets pretty easy once you're used to it, though - with the exception of rotations, those always suck haha

@lucky no problem, sorry it took so long to sort

@DonaldDuke just your friendly neighbourhood seabird
@lucky did you download the mod or just a plane that needs the mod?
Click the "download planes" button in the game, on the same screen as the "build and fly" part. It'll open the Steam in-game browser, and you can download from there

The numbers in the same menu as your landing gear controls are the action groups, which usually control detachers
@Jetspeed1001 you need to be able to access the AircraftData folder in your game, which is think is only possible on Android and PC but I may be wrong. Anyway, if you find Jundroo\SimplePlanes\AircraftDesigns, you can open the files for your planes and edit them in a text editor

It might be worth seeing if anyone from the roleplaying subreddit is interested
@Jetspeed1001 do you mean XML editing or actual modding?
Here you go
Top notch build dude, I'm glad I could help with it
@Austinowen if you're playing on mobile or low graphics, you won't get the super-shiny effects, unfortunately. I'm afraid there's nothing I can do about that
Bravon's Speed Resistance challenge can be found here
Okay well I thought I had uploaded it as a successor, but I must have done something wrong. Here is my entry.
@realluochen9999 @bobthetitan @Rohan thanks for the votes!
@goboygo1 no, this could be built in the old version just fine. Thanks for the vote, by the way
Try something for NovaTopaz' Ace Combat challenge, maybe? I'm thinking of doing the Cariburn or Forneus
I don't think so, but you can definitely just upload it again
At last, it's free! @AgDynamics @dsr1aviation @Byplain @Nickasaurus @XVIindustries @RABpilot2016 @NewAir @Earthbenderrwefa
@qazproductions the AI always uses full throttle and controls, but can't use any unusual control arrangements or VTOL
download the mod
place that mod in Users/You/AppData/LocalLow/Jundroo/SimplePlanes/Mods
start the game
open the new "mods" menu option
enable the mod
@Krathar nah man it was only a minor thing, don't stress over it. I'm not sure why it needed to be symmetric rather than flat bottomed, though, that was weird
