This was good for the time, I made a plane recently and it's basically a remastered version of this. Having said that, this plane has no chance of existing in real life.

True, while I do like replicas also, I don't have the means to make a good replica (Can't get blueprints on mobile), the only one plane that has very occasionally come to my mind to build is a F-104, since its essentially a flying lawn dart.
I'm not sure if this applies to what you're building, but I will typically work on the main body of the plane first, using the mirror function throughout, and only stopping completely once I get to the cockpit, which is the last thing I work on. With custom control surfaces, I still use the mirror function, and then edit the rotators themselves to be inverted.
As a result of the introduction of my new fighter, my FB-100s will essentially be relegated to the role of bombers, while the F-10s will generally be relegated to being strike aircraft, though they can still serve as air superiority fighters seeing as they're more numerous in number than the F-21, which will usually be tasked as an Air Superiority Fighter.
Good luck man, from my experience in college so far, you're probably going to be very busy and will only be able to play simpleplanes for extended periods during the weekend. Also, avoid simpleplanes when tests and finals come up.

On a different note, I am working on a new fighter, but the bad news is that the shape of it is taking forever to come together, and its getting pretty annoying.
