The XL-249 is a typical passenger airplane. Engine placed above wing for prevent engine damage at take-off, improve lift (becouse engine generate lower pressure before their intake), reduced lenght and weight of landing gears and improve controlability at low flight speed (becouse exhaust stream blowing at tail)
