It's a little different for mobile, you can try sliding up but it is extremely extremely hard, so what I do is I zoom out extremely far to where the plane will actually disappear and I make the picture grow around 900. Use the zoom out button.
And overall it really is the person who is hosting the challenge say and who wins. It could be a very inaccurate thing, so you can ask them how can you improve and what was wrong with your build.
I can agree with this a little bit most challenges are by low ranking users. I'm not saying that all low ranking peoples challenges are bad, but they're less accountable. I have over 100 upvotes in challenges that I never received the award.
