I love the clr but man there are pretty much no good blueprints for it or I prolly would have made one a long time ago after my clk gtr. Looks pretty damn good for how simple it is

@Tingly06822 ah ok, thank you for the clarification lol

  • New car! 1.2 years ago

If you want something that will be pretty easy, go with pretty much any 70s- 80s car, or some sort of panel van

  • A small question for top gear fans 1.2 years ago

@Tingly06822 for clarification, is that the same one they stress tested by blowing up a building with it on it and all that?

  • (TEASER) JDM POWER!! 1.2 years ago

@hpgbproductions I wish. Idk how I could make it work but ik imma do a turbo 2j. Might see if I can model a turbo400 tranny to for it. Maybe will do a 3 or 4 speed tho idk. Tbh I kinda wanna see if I can make some tbm brakes and some motion raceworks stuff and build so cool drag cars.

  • (TEASER) JDM POWER!! 1.2 years ago

@Graingy lol ah yea I guess that is kinda true. I wanted to do it because I've never been the best at building engines so I wanted to practice so I can make better ones.

  • A small question for top gear fans 1.2 years ago

@BYardley I never was really able to watch much of anything I wanted being the youngest kid in the house so I only saw a few episodes here and there unfortunately. And ok. Honestly a pretty sick car. Will definitely keep in mind.

  • Chrysler D'Elegance 1952 1.2 years ago

@NINJ4 yep your good. I'm getting mixed up with some other info lol.

  • Chrysler D'Elegance 1952 1.2 years ago

@NINJ4 ok, I am sorry but I was wrong. It was first made in 51. Maybe was the big block hemi that came out in the mid 60s...

  • Chrysler D'Elegance 1952 1.2 years ago

@NINJ4 ok.imma look it up and see lol. As far as I know it was for nascar or drag racing that's why they first made it and it was in the mid 60s.

  • Chrysler D'Elegance 1952 1.2 years ago

Wait I thought hemis didn't come out until the mid 60s? V8s as we know them I though weren't super popular until the small block chevy in around I think 1954-55. I could be wrong but that's the information I remember lol. Cool car

  • supercharger 1.2 years ago

@Graingy ok. Yea. Yea, honestly I'm not super familiar with all that. I'm American so I only know horsepower and big vroom vrooms lol

  • supercharger 1.3 years ago

@Graingy in reference to your reply to gzzzz, a screw Is different to a turbine. I suggest looking up a supercharger screw so you can understand what it looks like. Torque is VERY important. Torque is what makes diesel engines so good in trucking and other applications. If you've ever seen a Tractor trailer rising up a little bit when coming off a red light, that's the Torque twisting the drive train and frame to get itself underway with its heavy load. Torque in a drag racing sense I think is what helps get off the line quickly.
In reference to my reply, I may have? It's been about 4-5 years sense we did engines in my auto tech class, it was during covid, and I dint think we really covered it extensively so I may be getting it wrong. Torque and kw is the same thing to my knowledge? Idk tho, I'm American so I only like hp/ftlbs Torque so lol

  • supercharger 1.3 years ago

@qzzzz pro chargers are pretty much belt driven, but you can have crank driven ones too. Pretty much it's a belt driven turbo. Crank driven ones are more for high horsepower as belt driven would be way to much stress on the engine

  • supercharger 1.3 years ago

@Graingy well in a way yes, basically a turbine but instead of pulling air throught it it compresses it and then it goes into the motor.
For different mechanisms, I'm pretty sure superchargers were made looooonnnnngggg before turbos, if my memory is correct a camshaft driven one was one 1910s-20s Mercedes which was mounted in the rear and not on top. Not super familiar with the mechanism but that was used then alot on aircraft applications, the the screw design was created. Like qzzzz said they offer superior low end torque which in a drag racing sense torque is great for getting you off the line quickly and is good to push you through the quarter mile, where as horsepower to my knowledge and inferring is more of being able to sustain higher top speed and really getting your time down. Low end torque is also really good in burnout cars as you can light up the rear tires very efficiently and quickly and keeps the reving down lower which helps with engine life. Plus a screw system is pretty much ++ next to each other and twisted and making that reliable at a very high rpm would be alot especially concerning all the rotating mass, it would prolly blow it apart in say a v8 car, but having a small one in a little 4 cylinder like the Ariel atom it can hold a little more rpm.
Turbos to my knowledge are a little bit easier to tune in power sense it's not directly on the engine it's on the outside and has the charge piping that you can add a waste gate to and can better tune in how much boost you make getting off the line, and then can slowly add it back in going out the back end of a quarter mile. Superchargers on the other hand if you want to change the amount of boost you have to change the actual pully and isn't easily computer tuneable at a moments notice. If you want to lower your power you would have to tune timing, or something, or just get on it easier out the hole if it's not going down the track. Sorry I really tismed on that lol

  • supercharger 1.3 years ago

@qzzzz like a pro charger? Is that what your asking about?

  • supercharger 1.3 years ago

@Graingy yea honestly I couldn't imagine the supercharger screws needed for something like that lol. Would prolly be way to much rotating mass lol. Turbos at that rate are pretty much jet turbines at that rate.

  • supercharger 1.3 years ago

@Graingy honestly there is still a level of wanting to be efficient, just not when it comes to fuel but most professionals use alternative fuel. And ah well I mean in a regular road car yea, having a turbo is more efficient, obviously. Best way to add easy power and keep it in a small package I will agree with that. But for me, If I pull up next to someone and they look at ya and you know you gotta dust some poor chump, I want a supercharger and just use that torque to pull me out of the hole better.

  • supercharger 1.3 years ago

@Graingy lol, I went to school for it so I'd say so ya lol. And NHRA is drag racing where I'm talking about so acceleration is 1000000% a big thing. There are ways around turbo lag like line lock systems, which in auto cars is often called getting on the converter. Now in a racing left right thing I would see where turbo would be better, smoother power delivery which is more controllable but also may loose time in big straight sections

  • supercharger 1.3 years ago

Superchargers are also pretty good if you wanna save space and much simpler so less things to break. Turbos got charge tubing, intercooler, and a whole new header that will take up more space than just regular headers. Plus you get instant torque, no lag and your intercooler is as far as my knowledge is right under the supercharger screws, so all you need is a little vertical space so fitting it in smaller cars is easier than a turbo.

  • supercharger 1.3 years ago

@Graingy big dog as in professional teams, like NHRA funny car, top fuel, those guys use superchargers also known as a blower. Sure it may be primitive but if it ain't broke don't fix it right?

  • supercharger 1.3 years ago

@Graingy oooooohhhhhhhh, yea, I get it now. I mean yea, but turbo don't whine lol. Hell tho with a top fuel drag car blower it needs like 800hp to turn but it makes 11000 so can't be all bad right? Plus don't see big dog professional teams using turbos, it's all pretty much blower cars

Idk what that means, all I know is supercharger whine and make car vroom faster, science

  • supercharger 1.3 years ago

Unpopular opinion, superchargers sound better than turbos. Looks great. You design it after anything specific or just a generic supercharger? To me looks like a wipple or something.

@T1PerformanceIndustries thanks brother! Yea definitely took a little bit for me to do. Had to take a break from it for a month to get back into it. Just get stuck at spots and have to take a break and then once you get back most of the time you can get back into it. Had that happen with my upcoming super late model stock.
