First off
Please change the flight model - dcs manuals give a good reference point.
Also I didn’t make the roundel you ended up using SR’s roundel instead haha 😅
holy crap that looks nuts
please make a replica cockpit, intakes that move n all - this has sooo much potential
also if needed i can work on the flight model :))
Sounds awesome man!
I do agree it should be pretty easy to recalibrate given it’s just a few trig equations, it shouldn’t be too tough to find what you need.
Keep at it man, your FT skills are an inspiration! @GuyFolk
@TonnkatuTonnkatuThePig i honestly doubt youtube would do much on another monitor
windows is good at handling multiple displays from past experience
heat drain would be (my guess) the root cause to the problem - i presume your components are clocking themselves to not overheat
good judging, glad that you noted the stability of the aircraft too
most wwi aircraft were like flying a twig with wings - they'd either fly or fall real well
YESSSSS
I got to speak to Richard de Crespigny who was the pilot of this aircraft when QF32 had its number two engine uncontained failure. It was all over the news and I can remember it as a kid.
He's an amazing man and he trained to fly F-111s (known as the Pig in Australia) but never went on to fly as a fighter pilot. QANTAS then took him in after his time in the military
This is an amazing build - I'm sad I cannot run it but the looks alone are superb!
Im lucky enough to have performed service on a CA-18 Mustang (Aussie built D series) and I must say there is a good amount of things that you’ve gotten right.
The flight model is alright - it’s just the takeoff and full pitch banking that lets it down.
Another thing to note is that the flaps do the opposite of what they normally do, not sure why but off of memory on the mustang because the flaps are partially behind the CoM, they should pitch the nose down - but in return they allow for lower landing speeds. The flaps you’ve made aren’t great as they don’t have their special preset degrees, which are 10, 20, 30, 40, and 50, where 20 is for takeoffs and low speed combat and 10 is for higher speed combat and the other 3 are for landings depending on the pilot. The mustang generally holds its speed at around 350 km/h off memory. I’ll have to check the notes I took on the performance of it. Again.
Another thing. The shape on this mustang is pretty solid. You’ve missed some basic and easy to add details, along with the canopy’s shape which is thoroughly different. Not only that but the cockpit - holy crap is it different. You’d think it’s a poorly funded replica cockpit.
All in all however you’ve captured the broader image of the Mustang and I love it!
I’ve gotta make my own mustang now :)
Edit I remembered why the flaps make the nose go down: the CoL is raised above the CoG or CoM and the drag combined with the change is CoL pushes down on the bottom of the aircraft.
g host of kevin??!/1?!11
+1First off
+1Please change the flight model - dcs manuals give a good reference point.
Also I didn’t make the roundel you ended up using SR’s roundel instead haha 😅
That would be a really cool livery to implement alongside it!
+1I reckon you make both and link one in the description. @KipSqueaks
wait you're chillybacon?
+1bruh how'd i not realise you changed your pfp and name lol
I like the cockpit :)
+1lol it seems like all the kids who did the andrewism stuff are peed off over german corsair stuff now loll
+1@DameTheMobileFriendly Also I suggest you use my roundels, they're better than SR's roundels and only cost a few extra parts
+1@DameTheMobileFriendly Wait I remember now, that's the Fighting First Squadron (No 1 SQN)
+1omg the roundels are the wrong way around
+1other than that massive error lookin good
which squadron again? i think it's 3 sqn
No wukkas mate! @ZWLenning
+1holy crap that looks nuts
+1please make a replica cockpit, intakes that move n all - this has sooo much potential

No wukkas! No need to credit :) @DameTheMobileFriendly
+1@jamesPLANESii wuld be sad for ukrain ngl lie
+1@Destroyerz117 it's twosday my dudes
+1sounds like one of those cool 'my little dark age' videos lol
Sounds awesome man!

Keep at it man, your FT skills are an inspiration! @GuyFolk
One of the best looking flankers on the site imo
+1But honestly the flight model holds this back a lot.
@TonnkatuTonnkatuThePig i honestly doubt youtube would do much on another monitor

@TonnkatuTonnkatuThePig geez that's rough
+1i'll presume you have an i5 - which should be more than plenty too
is it just simpleplanes that runs poorly?
@GuyFolk yeah exactly
+1it's a win loss sorta thing
Just tag a moderator and get its successorship code changed to
+1PfVV1n
@IceCraftGaminggood judging, glad that you noted the stability of the aircraft too
+1most wwi aircraft were like flying a twig with wings - they'd either fly or fall real well
waste of a forum ngl
+1Look at some of RJ’s techniques. They’re really good
+1the tags seem to be targeted
+1but innocent until guilty rule applies as always
so tell me where i 'marked the old mod'
yes
+1pha @Phox
+1😏 I see what occurred there haha @Phox
+1I understand that, but even still
+1The cockpit is next to nothing, and the flight model has no AoA whatsoever. @Phox
Pheels half done in my opinion - flight model is like a graph, and the fact that the tail hook doesn’t even work astonishes me.
+1@ALRX amazing man, keep up the hard yakka :)
+1it works well in vr
+1would be pretty nice and easy to implement by the sounds of it
+1not funni jalta @kyomunosekai
+1@Viper_Z3R0 Cool
+1Much appreciated.
Literal goldfish @jamesPLANESii
+1woah...
+1warhaw
+1It is criminal that this doesn’t have more upvotes…
+1hi bakon egg
+1i have an nft of the f-14 maunual here
and a pdf here
A/B looks much better now
+1Nice work!
Make sure it bleeds energy a bunch too, she was a phat bird

It’s not FT it’s xml lol
+1Just change
disableAircraftCollisions
tofalse
and then it’ll work. @ChickendudeYou gotta disable collisions for tracks using XML editing otherwise they don’t work ever, and will procede to blow up
+1Comin up!
+1@X99STRIKER
:beef pahpcernwbutter:
hap birday wiib
+1Would be nice, but more additions to be able to walk to / look at outside of your build would benefit this immensely.
+1Sounds Awesome! Looking forward to it :) @MuizTheMobileFriendly
+1No need
+1Switches and stuff do it all now
@Viper_Z3R0 Wilco Viper, look forward to seeing it :)
