I always really liked traveling as a young lad, and planes were kind of a symbol of that for me. Toy planes were always super fun for me, and I guess it was that feeling of freedom and uniqueness of a plane that I loved. I’d flown to Hawaii twice then, and already had that childish love of the military. On my second trip, we went to Pearl Harbor and saw this informational video in a little theater there, and honestly, there was something so intense but so cool about the roar of Plane engines and the loud explosions in the video that just hit something with me.
I’ve liked aircraft for a long time, but I think it was that trip to Pearl Harbor that really sealed it for me. I even got a. Little toy b-17 on that trip that I still have. After that, I just loved planes. I went to the Pima Air and Space Museum (like, 30 minutes from where I live) a few years later, and loved what I saw. I started drawing them in better detail that just vaguely plane shaped things. And I bought a whole collection of toy planes and helicopters. I met a man who was an officer at an airbase during the Vietnam war in Alaska, and his dad flew anti-submarine missions in a Martin PBM Mariner in ww2, so I mean, that was pretty cool. By now my love of planes was peaked. I got to fly a Cessna 172, and even sat in the radio operators seat of B-17 Sentimental Journey in flight.
Now I’m heading to the navy as an Aircraft Administrationman
I like the design a lot, but it seems to have a bit of trouble flying. I think the main issue is how far the wings are foreword. It might fly a little nicer if you brought those back a little. Also, it could help to reduce the weight a little. Maybe remove the dead weight in the front and reduce the fuel in the back. I love it though! It’s a wonderful looking plane
I love the design! If you want to make it a little more appropriately scaled, try making some custom landing gear, and scale down the wings a bit. Great build as is though!
I’m not much of an advanced builder, but I’ve tried before to some effect, so here’s what I’ve got. Do what people have already said: shape, maneuverability based on design, references. In my experience in making smaller details, I find it’s best to do major things first, then add smaller stuff. My most popular creation is a ship with some smaller detail, but nothing way too detailed. My only plane with fully functioning stick movement has basically no other detail besides that, but it’s enough. Basically, get the shape first, then work on smaller details one step at a time. If it looks good with a couple minor details, don’t over complicate. Sorry if this didn’t help at all.
Your engines are really heavy for such a short plane. Would suggest making it a bit longer and adding some dead weight to the nose. That should balance out the front at least. Maybe just scale it up a bit. That should give you more freedom to edit the weight accordingly. Nice build btw!
From what I’m seeing, I think you should probaly remove one of the tail rotors. It seems like your main rotor is also a little too powerful. My suggestion would be to get rid of the left side tail rotor, increase the right tail rotors power, and decrease the main engines power. Nice build btw!
Yeah, once I got it done I just kinda gave up on slot of detail, but I could redo it a bit and make it lighter. I was making up as I went, and I admit, the shape of it is a little improvised. The non functional parts were meant as decoration (like the car engines) but it could definitely be improved greatly. Anything you want to do to reprise or modify it, be my guest, I figure I’ll do the same eventually. Thanks for the feedback! @Tw1st3dPs7ch0
I love the detail! Maybe you should consider using a wider cockpit to make the nose look a little wider, but otherwise, I love it. I had a similar visual problem in my b-25, but using a wider cockpit really helped.

+1The hinges are definitely the issue. Try getting rid of the hinges that let it rotate to the side, but keep the vertical hinges. That could help
