  • Fokker E.III 9.4 years ago

@Feschterohjo Thanks! I would have liked it better if I could do proper XML coding. Any custom parts on this thing were 'borrowed' from other builds. I really hated that I couldn't get the wires to go EXACTLY where I wanted them. :( We're our own worst critics though...

  • Concorde v2016 9.4 years ago

@Feschterohjo I went ahead and test flew your' Concorde v16 and found that she didn't want to cooperate with me much. I played around with the weight, fuel stores, tailplane arrangement and gave the engines some more "length" to give it a little more of that classic Concorde look and by the time I was done I think it was the first Concorde that could safely loop, do barrel rolls and fly under a bridge! Haha! After taking off from south airport I landed at Yeager. Max speed I got her up to was 644 mph in level flight though. If you want me to upload it so you can decide whether you would like to keep the changes let me know. I love the broad and wide wings like this though. Keep up the good work!

  • Conquest X-30 9.4 years ago

@Feschterohjo I'd love to check it out! This bird looks a bit deformed due to trying to stay true to the memory of that toy. After a little testing I discovered if you add 1k dead weight to the bulbous canopy the thing will loop each way and roll for you all day long. I still need a USAF wing insignia of the appropriate size though... OMW to check out your' bird!

  • 10 Pieces WAR! - Ankle Nipper 9.4 years ago

@Baldovino I'll toy with that option next. One never knows what physics are actually involved in the game. I had to drop the 'Nipper horsepower down to 500 I think it was to keep her from rolling out of a verticle loop before I finished the maneuver or broke into another maneuver. I was thinking along the lines of an ultralight fighter design concept so the prop never even occurred to me as a potential solution. Next time~ lol

  • 1250 Lbs CHALLENGE RESULTS AND WINNERS 9.4 years ago

@Baldovino Thanks for creating this challenge, my plane could barely fly and my next contest entry is a comedy as well. None the less just participating and seeing what others manage is fun in and of itself! ^_^

  • 1250 lbs challenge (CLOSED) 9.4 years ago

@Baldovino It was a pleasure! This was the first challenge I entered too! ^_^

  • 1250 lbs challenge (CLOSED) 9.4 years ago

@Baldovino I finally managed to get something to fly with these limitations but she's a bear to keep in the sky! It's amazing that the real Fokker Dr.I actually weighed in at 1,290Lb or so at take-off.

  • USS CASABLANCA (CVE-55)-Mobile Ver 9.4 years ago

I could probably get my Fokker E.III or the experimental biplane I based off of her to take off from this beauty but all the deck details protruding would snag the gear and tailskids. VTOL would certainly work though have you tried the starter bird, Vertigo, on it?

  • An Observation I Made 9.4 years ago

I'd say the majority of them are indeed. It's having a secondary effect on unskilled builders being more self conscious of their own builds though most likely. ;)

  • Messerschmitt Bf 110 E-2 Trop 9.4 years ago

@DeezDucks OMG! This is a gorgeous model, much better than anything I can do ... yet anyway! ;) I am amazed and impressed with your' hard work in producing this model though. Loved the added touch of properly retracting gear! I plan to experiment with using airbreaks as flaps or even dive breaks using VTOL controls, maybe a mod somewhere out there can help with slightly smaller airbreaks?? XD Wishful thinking on my part. You did that Airfix kit justice here. -looks over his shoulder at the same kit on the shelf, still unbuilt and wonders if he'll ever build in plastic again-

  • Poll 9.4 years ago

    Number 1 IMHO~

  • Snowspeeder 9.4 years ago

@Authros Wow, this is simply an amazing design! Makes me want to DL an At-At to leave on the runway offset a ways, so I can come back and blow it up. XD She's a little tailheavy for Vertical Landing or maybe I'm missing something? Still a lot of fun and remarkably maneuverable! Thanks for this~

  • Double Wasp Torpedo Bomber Gunship 9.4 years ago

@WalrusAircraft Thanks for the link!! I'll check that out ASAP!

  • I should like some cannons, please. ^_^ 9.4 years ago

@Flightsonic Maybe so! Ah! The memories of cracking up bombers on an old flight sim with 37 mm cannons on the Ju-87G! lol I'd also like for adjacent areas to guns to have the added option to store ammo appropriate to the caliber. Unlimited ammo is fun and all but the amount should weigh us down.

  • I should like some cannons, please. ^_^ 9.4 years ago

@HellFireKoder Is that going to be added to SimplePlanes or will it be a standalone?

  • Recon Floatplane 9.4 years ago

@WalrusAircraft As mentioned before I am XML illiterate. I DL'd Notepad++ but I'm still looking for the XML files on my PC. I don't know if I'll be able to work the kind of magic you do but I'll do my best! Thanks for the commendation on this bird, it's fun to fly and play around with. I'll probably replace the guns with "borrowed" assemblies from downloaded birds with XML mods so that they will have a better "appearance only" look! ^_^

  • Double Wasp Torpedo Bomber Gunship 9.4 years ago

@WalrusAircraft I had been working on a torpedo design too but it was much bulkier, thus heavier and accuracy was JUST horrible for mine! This appearance was a sheer stroke of good luck on my part and brilliance in design on your's. Now watch, next update, they'll add torpedoes. XD PS - I am XML illiterate though I have seen your' older uprated designs and snagged them for my subassemblies. (I fitted a pair of the x10 jets to the starter swing wing bird with a little fiddling and got her up to 2.6k mph! What a rush!) Anyway, get better soon and I'll keep an eye out for your' future designs!

  • Double Wasp Torpedo Bomber Gunship 9.4 years ago

@AeroEngineering I'll take a look at those RATO's for a later project, as I just arranged a centerline mounting for it. Worked great! ^_^

  • Double Wasp Torpedo Bomber Gunship 9.4 years ago

I gave this bird a shot and not too bad at all! Love the look of it, handling was okay, but REALLY loved the torpedo design. Mind if I snag it as a subassembly? I tried it out on my Recon Floatplane and nailed USS Tiny with 80% accuracy so that isn't bad at all! (Though it was too heavy to get it off of the water with one under each wing; Drat!)

  • STICKERS! 9.4 years ago

I agree wholeheartedly!! I think that would go nicely with the masking suggestion made previously for custom paint jobs.

  • Lights 9.4 years ago

@WhenGoatsFly No worries, just wanted to make sure someone had addressed the matter at some point. ^_^

  • Space Battleship Yamato 9.4 years ago

GREAT replica!! Very true to the series, I love it. Now if they'd only put the rocket engines from their other game into SimplePlanes we could have some REAL fun! XD

  • Caudron C.460 9.4 years ago

I've always been a fan of the Caudron C.714, which were used by Polish pilots during the German invasion of France, which I -think- was a military version of this bird. (I'll have to go back and look at my references - but they definitely look "related." I learned a bit about how to hide the blocky features of the wings with fuselage blocks that'll come in handy down the line. Thanks for contributing such a neat and fun lil bird!

  • Airfoil, Leading Edge & Trailing edge shapes. 9.4 years ago

@AeroEngineering Sweet! I look forward to it!! :D

  • Lights 9.4 years ago

I was going to suggest this very thing when I just registered. lol
