@localf15enjoyer Actually, not necessarily. Sure, your coverage is better but there are also things you simply couldn't do with smaller vessels.
If you have 10 100k tonne ships then you can cover multiple theatres but only launch certain, smaller craft.
One 1M tonne ship, however, could launch much, much larger planes (strategic bombers, for example) and carry weapons that simply couldn't be carried by the smaller ships (for example, massive lasers do handle munitions too fast or durable for smaller reactors to power).
It's a trade-off.
Of course, larger ships also need special support (larger dry docks, for example). Look up the SS Great Eastern for a great example of troubles encountered by a ship larger than the world it inhabits, so to speak. Of course, that was a commercial vessel, but some of the issues (like needing to build a cofferdam to make hull repairs) could still apply to a massive warship.
Alternatively, you could make a 500k tonne ship with similarly massive deck space for large planes but without the capability to carry the reactors needed for a giant laser system.

Reddit, am I the arsehole?
My mum (82F) told me (12M) to do the dishes (16) but I (12M) was too busy playing Fortnite (3 kills) so I (12M) grabbed my controller (DualShock 4) and threw it at her (138kph). She fucking died, and I (12M) went to prison (18 years). While in prison I (12M) incited several riots (3) and assumed leadership of a gang responsible for smuggling drugs (cocaine) into the country. I (12M) also ordered the assassination of several celebrities (Michael Jackson, Elvis Presley and Jeffrey Epstein) and planned a terrorist attack (9/11). Reddit, AITA?
Cool ship, but
"USF Navy Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Beast."
The Beast is far, far larger than a Nimitz, at 450 meters long against a Nimitz's 333 or so.
@TriStar I now know way too much about dissecting living people/pickaxing innocents/hitting babies against trees/horrifically attacking neighbours for no reason/being a Nazi but far, far worse.
@MIGFOXHOUND31BSM26 The African population of Mars is 0%. We’ve been wondering if this is part of why Elon wants here so bad…
Whatever the case may be, our orbital defence system is set to shoot to kill.

I single-handedly secured our maple syrup supply.
@MIGFOXHOUND31BSM26 I was not aware of that stereotype.

So what's the canonical length? Compared to the Beast it looks about three times as large, or about ~1350m roughly.
