@Theman19, even better, I don't think I've ever seen a 727 build on this site. Since it's a 727 and if you want to go a little retro, may I suggest TWA livery? You know, of course, that D.B. Sweeney (his name on the manifest) hijacked a 727 (think it was 1972), was paid off when they made a refueling stop, then parachuted out the back through the tailcone exit over Washington state with the money? They never found him and it's one of the greatest unsolved crimes of all time.
@Synthex4060 I know, bummer, right? If the insignia are flat (haven't used the Swedish ones, I use the ones made by @thealban), you can use nudge on PC to put them on the surface of the wing. Otherwise, you can try what I do: Build a flat fuselage section (.25 thick), put it on the wing, place the insignia on top. Then, pull the fuselage piece out and the insignia will be sitting on the wing. I don't know why it works, but it does.
Wow, this is fantastic, very accurate, unique subject. I hope that the users realize that the pilot's way out of this deathtrap was to eject from the fuselage and parachute down after he fired his rockets at his bomber targets. There was never any expectation to actually land this thing, so good luck! In fact, the only manned test flight resulted in the death of the test pilot.
There's only one thing this could be based off of...the Mighty Herc! I think you need to try to mod this thing into a C-130 replica, it's already pretty close.
VERY nice! A lesser-known 2nd generation jet fighter, and Swedish, no less. I think there are actually Swedish insignia roundels on the site under the "Parts" tag, you should try and find them.
@TrainDude well, yeah...but it shouldn't be that difficult, should be an option that most any user can easily adjust. At least, that's my recommendation.
@Theman19 don't rush...I've been at the "Upload" step and have literally hit "Cancel" instead because there was something I remembered at the very last second, so take your time. The site will be there tomorrow...
It really would be easy to do in a 1.6 release, coding is there for adding flight controls (elevator, ailerons and rudder). There are some airplanes out there which are XML modded to include the control options for flaps/slats (VTOL). You wouldn't even have to make it automatic to reverse the control surface on the opposite side, you could just select the existing "invert" command from the current menu for the opposite wing. Plus, the aerodynamic effects are already resident in the game (more drag with control surface deflection, plus the airflow/pitch up/pitch down deflection). Not sure about reducing the stall speed, though.
Be sure to put two more big cockpit windows at the back of the flight deck, it's a distinctive DC-10 feature, see here: DC-10 flight deck windows. Also, recommend you shorten the nose a little bit, the DC-10 has a stub nose...
Hey, this looks pretty good, by the way. Yes, you need windows. Do what @Shmexypilot is telling you to do: build some windows from fuse pieces, probably .75x.75x.25 (thick), reduce your fuselage pieces by .25 smaller than what they are, put the "windows" onto the fuse where you want them, then increase your fuselage width back to the original size (.25 thicker). Your new "windows" will "submerge" a little bit into the fuselage without disappearing and will now not stick out too much. Mirror each window individually on the opposite side of the fuse when you're all done--you DO NOT have to reduce the fuselage size when you mirror to the opposite side, SP will put them in the right place, semi-submerged. Easy to do on iOS, this is the way I do it, as well, I did it here, as an example. Your challenge will be to do it for all, I dunno, 100 or so(?) windows, which may prove tedious. It will be worth the effort, though. Also, highly recommend getting rid of the "infinite fuel"...IMHO it's a cheat, plus you'll learn so much more (and have more options) when you have to place the fuel throughout your plane to adjust your CG, be sure to put it a little ahead of the CL. PLUS, SP will actually adjust your aircraft performance as the fuel burns off, just like the real thing, so I think it's actually much cooler to have fuel that burns down as you fly around. I know that I don't keep any planes that I have infinite fuel onboard, as an actual pilot I think it's a negative in this game.
And without even looking at it, you should put windows on it, otherwise it's incomplete. That's the extra effort that will get your builds noticed. Fine tuner mod may help get the windows in place...
Flaps (easy--just include an input for "VTOL" in the menu, then reverse the direction of movement via existing menu option). Attach point in the new intake for shock cones, splitters, etc.
Question: How did you get the splitter into the intake? Doesn't seem to be an attach point in there, yet I see yours and others who've managed to put a shock cone into there...
Hey, would you mind telling me how you got the shock cone into the inlet? I've been trying to do the same and it doesn't seem to have an attach point at the back of the inlet.
@GrahamSimmons very true, followers generally produce more upvotes. That comes from excitement, which comes from quality postings. Here, let me adjust my advice: Build more, don't necessarily post them all, but build more to get better. Then post your best creations, upvotes will follow. I will also say, don't fret about upvotes. If you like and enjoy your creations, that's the best reward you can get from your creations!
What kind of door? Absent an answer, here are a few to check out: C-123, C-7, C-119, C-130, C-17, C-141, C-5, C-160. The challenge with any transport/cargo aircraft is getting the flight deck right, as SP has no easy way to provide for an airliner-style flight deck or windows.
@GrahamSimmons yes, perhaps not. I will concede that some low point builders (@Aught, you, others) will come out of nowhere to post some awesome creation, but I will bet those people have been building without posting for awhile. However, for Theman19 here, I looked at his posts and he needs to refine his work, which comes with experience, before he's going to get major upvotes, plus his highest point creations are mods of other builders, which already garnered their share of upvotes for their originators. Just what I see here.
@MrWarPac thanks and yes, I know that, and I've been dealing with iOS shortfalls for awhile. I have a desktop that runs SP just fine, I just don't like sitting at a computer on a desk, phone is just so much more accessible.
You don't build enough, upvotes come with number of creations, not time in the community. More creations = Better creations = upvotes (small number at first), leads to followers, leads to more upvotes. Don't fret, it took many creations before I got any significant notice, but I have probably have posted 3x the number of creations you've posted.
@Liquidfox, me too, which is proving to be tougher than I thought for a few of my airplanes as I had to often make some major compromises to work around the old intakes. Sometimes it takes quite a bit of "undoing" to make the new ones work!
Disagree, there should be some sort of kudos for those who do good work. "Leveling the playing field" will just sink the really great builders in a sea of crappy creations. I look at the "Hottest" section all the time to id good builds to then upvote and spotlight. If we didn't have an upvote system, other users can't tag the good creations to break them out of the crowd.
This is absolutely one of the two best replicas I've seen on the site in the last couple of months (@FrogmasterAereonautics SF-260 being the other. BTW, his M-346 is also fantastic). I'm really trying to moderate my enthusiasm here and not stray into hyperbole. There have been around a dozen spot on replicas, and this one ranks right up there...the proportions are perfect, it flies well (the bane of many replicas), the details are perfect. I do not see a single compromise here...did you xml edit or use fine tuner mod? This build makes me re-evaluate my own skills here on SP, please feature this one @AndrewGarrison, we've had too many tanks and cars on the featured page lately!
!Mystery Airplane
@JMicah4 nope, single engine
@Dalton02 not China, closer to home...
@Dalton02 nope
Huh...sorry, I posted the link, but can't remember how to post the screenshot...
Very cool so far, can't wait to see the final product

I think it's a 717, though, as the 727 had 3 engines. You should be able to do a Delta Airlines paint scheme: 717
Looks good, suggest putting another pair of Windows on the flight deck.
@Synthex4060 I know, bummer, right? If the insignia are flat (haven't used the Swedish ones, I use the ones made by @thealban), you can use nudge on PC to put them on the surface of the wing. But, you already said all this in your description! X)

Nice, clean little airplane. You should write some sort of description for it.
Looks cool, kind of like an F-16 crossed with X-Wing Fighter...
Well...nothing is 100% accurate, but this is close!
Very nice, looks good, will download onto my phone to see if it can handle it. Look, the Upvotes are coming as well!
@Thomasj041, sure, agreed, anything but the default!
Sucks. Some of my jets blow themselves up now, plus if you want to tuck in some wing guns as nose guns close to the fuse sides, doesn't work as well.
@Theman19 don't rush...I've been at the "Upload" step and have literally hit "Cancel" instead because there was something I remembered at the very last second, so take your time. The site will be there tomorrow...
The A-7 is also on my list to build, now that we have the new intake. Very cute mini-version, like it a lot.

@AstleyIndustries well that makes more sense now...
And without even looking at it, you should put windows on it, otherwise it's incomplete. That's the extra effort that will get your builds noticed. Fine tuner mod may help get the windows in place...
Can't see the pictures, sorry...
Sorry, for flaps, make that an option for wings, similar to ailerons, or elevators or rudders, for that matter.
Flaps (easy--just include an input for "VTOL" in the menu, then reverse the direction of movement via existing menu option). Attach point in the new intake for shock cones, splitters, etc.

Very nice build, though. You really nailed the wing and tail shapes here, which is what some builders really miss.
@GrahamSimmons very true, followers generally produce more upvotes. That comes from excitement, which comes from quality postings. Just google images of the airplanes mentioned below.

Fantastico!
@MrWarPac dang it...I do almost everything on iOS, no nudge available...I'm going to have to migrate to PC!
Hey, SR, how do you use these? I'm trying to put them on a vertical stabilizer and they keep disappearing inside the surface, any hints?
@Liquidfox, me too, which is proving to be tougher than I thought for a few of my airplanes as I had to often make some major compromises to work around the old intakes. Sometimes it takes quite a bit of "undoing" to make the new ones work!
OK, I guess I could troll the "Newest" section and spotlight those I appreciate, however SP would have to eliminate the cooldown system as well.
Disagree, there should be some sort of kudos for those who do good work. "Leveling the playing field" will just sink the really great builders in a sea of crappy creations. I think many of us are waiting for the mobile update, I know I am.
This one is pretty fantastic too, but your Yak is just that much better!
