    @EliteIndustries1 Well, I do need to smooth the terrain itself, since it is too polygonal. But as far as the giant shapes; they are in fact quite intentional and may be much more difficult to find in a subsequent map! :D


    You can fly inside! (Theoretically; I'll edit this when I have!) :D

    @EliteIndustries1 So you can fly in the 150 ft between it and the water, silly! :D


    Also that bit of terrain is a proof-of-concept. If you can find the way inside, maybe you can fly among a few stalactites!... I was also working on waterfalls! xP

    @Ctracerx2 Not yet! Though I just happen to be posting some more screen shots on the newest posted mod, and your Cessna is on it! (I'll credit you in Le Details)


    For some reason recently when I've tried to edit C# in Visual Studio, it seems to pull up a blank file... I'm tinkering with another mod at the moment, but I shall dig into the skybox dilemma later this eve. I think I must just need a script called up to switch from the default to the alternate skybox. I'm not too strong in the whole throwin'-code thing yet, but we'll see what happens! Thank you again for the help!

    @Jasperjl You know it's working right when the blue bar you see on your screen shot in the lower right (right above the time), Where it says (7/11 Light Transport | 31 Jobs). You WON'T see that bar working once you've found the right box to UNcheck.

    @Jasperjl I wasn't saying change to imported; I was saying to UNcheck AUTO under the [Lighting] window (different than using the inspector for lights...)


    Click {Window} in the file bar, scroll down and find {Lighting}. Scroll down under the lighting tab, and you will see a check box marked auto. Let me know if you are still confused; it's kinda difficult to explain; I can find a youtube vid.

    @Flash0of0green Definitely! I think the resource management part makes the design part more interesting! Some of the versions of mods I've been working on feature a very long distance between islands. I often will play "strict", and only let myself "restart here" if I have landed at a place that could resupply fuel.


    The fun part is playing bush plane style. You can land anywhere, but you have to pre-dictate the fuel drop-offs. It could be something as simple as a set of fuel barrels on the tundra...

    @poenix My Porpupine Island Mod is a bit like that with the AA, but it is quite difficult to make a cave in Unity; though it can be done.


    The problem is that the terrains are not visible from underneath, so you have to use polygons and voxels. You can however attach these voxels to "holes" in the terrain (Yes, you can make holes in the terrain but it is $, and is for Unity 4.6.0 and higher; while we use 3.6.1 mostly)

    If you you copy your project folder and put it in google drives and send the link, I should be able to make it work. And do you mean you can't save it, or it won't build properly? What are you receiving for warning messages?


    Really the simplest way for building a cave would be to cap it with a long cube, and lay another terrain upon the top face of the extruded cube (rectangle). If you wanted stalagtites, you could put another terrain on the bottom and have it all max height, and use the brush to paint the stalagtites lower...

    @Jasperjl It's funny how when you are starting with something new, even the little stuff can be tricky! I've been trying to have different things load at different places using the on-trigger command; and teaching myself a bit of C# has been a whole other challenge!

    Evidently a racetrack in a manga called initialD, it is supposedly based off of an actual road in Japan. (Jomo-Sanzan Panorama Highway, somewhere around Takasaki, Gunma Prefecture, Japan) I found a drawing of the route, but it doesn't show the topography.
