    Good news. I got it to work without falling apart!

  • The Forwind seal of quality Challenge 10.1 years ago

    When is the contest over?

  • M400 VTOL 10.1 years ago

    @Karlosdarkness Paul Moller, yeah. Cool guy. A lot of innovations have come out of Moller International. Unfortunately, we won't see skycars in the sky any time soon. The technology just isn't present to make them crash-proof.

  • Moller M400 Skycar 10.1 years ago

    @Jmicah4 @Authros @SpiritusRaptor THANKS GUYS!

  • General Dynamics F-16XL 10.1 years ago

    @Authros :D

  • General Dynamics F-16XL 10.1 years ago

    @PlanesOfOld I changed it to the F-16XL which is a delta-wing tech demonstrator. The original one Authros made was just a standard F-16.

  • LOOOK 10.1 years ago

    You need gold? Why? What's the obsession people on this site have with points and ratings? Just make some cool planes, and share them with the community. Stop worrying about your score and enjoy the game.

  • General Dynamics F-16XL 10.1 years ago

    @Authros I don't know why, but it didn't mark this as a successor to your plane. So I'm tagging you to notify you I uploaded this so you'll know I gave you credit.

  • CAC Sabre RAAF (F-86) by SR 10.1 years ago

    Awesome design, as usual. Looks great, handles even better! P.S. I could be wrong (and correct me if I am), but I don't think Sabres ever carried sidewinders :/

  • XB-70 v.1 10.1 years ago

    @hypnotoad thanks!

  • XB-70 Kinda Fixed 10.1 years ago

    @Ronoc Actually, I already fixed it, and posted the fixed version. Go check it out.

  • XB-70 v.1 10.1 years ago

    @JacobHardy64 This Saturday. The contest doesn't end until Friday.

  • XB-70 v.1 10.1 years ago

    @JMicah4 Good idea.

  • XB-70 Kinda Fixed 10.1 years ago

    Looks like I'm just going to have to start over on this one. Sad, but it looks like I can't fix the problems without a complete deconstruction of the plane.

  • EA-6B Prowler 10.1 years ago

    It looks fantastic. I mean it looks FANTASTIC! A work of art. Handling could be a little better, but it's solid enough. Definitely one of the most photo-accurate planes posted.

  • Various Parts for PlanesOfOld 10.1 years ago

    I love that it's all on a little cart :P

  • ADFX 0-2 Morgan 10.1 years ago

    Looks cool, but I can't get it off the runway.

  • Mitsubishi F1M2 v.1 10.1 years ago

    Your center of lift is way out in front of your center of mass. That's why it won't fly.

  • SSTOL Challenge (CLOSED) 10.1 years ago

    @T3485 use the cockpit from this file to make the plane you want to submit. If you want to use a plane you've already built, remove the cockpit from it and save the plane as a sub assembly then just import that sub assembly to this save file.

  • SSTOL Challenge (CLOSED) 10.1 years ago

    @Vikdesigns June 12, this Friday.

  • P-4,954,550 SEPTICORION (septic_orion) 10.1 years ago

    You should choose one of my planes to add to the Septicairforce.

  • THE SEPTICEYE 180 10.1 years ago

    Such Flaps! Very Lift! Much Stable! WOW! (Seriously, this plane is rock solid, and looks great too! Awesome job!)

  • My first jet 10.1 years ago

    Reminds me of a saab viggen.

  • Goalkeeper CIWS 10.1 years ago

    Just incredible! This needs to be featured!

  • Curtiss R3C-2 1925 10.1 years ago

    @PlanesOfOld The problem I have is when you mod the engine power they take forever to throttle down. You get more power and greater speed, and the loss of fine throttle control. It's really quite aggravating. If someone could figure out how to mod an engine's power and still have the throttle be quick and responsive, I wouldn't have a problem.

  • Curtiss R3C-2 1925 10.1 years ago

    Looks really good, but did you HAVE to use a modded engine?

  • Curtiss R3C-2 1925 10.1 years ago

    @PlanesOfOld Relax guy, I'm already following you :P

  • Aircraft 10.1 years ago

    I'm assuming this is a part of something much larger that you're building?

  • Bell D-188A 10.1 years ago

    Very cool. So why weren't you able to make it VTOL?

  • Transavia PL-12 Airtruk 10.1 years ago

    @JacobHardy64 This is Deimosrun's plane. I just modified it to improve some stability issues. Please rate his as well, ya?

  • Stonewell Bellcom VF-4 lightning iii 10.1 years ago

    @deimosrun Thanks. The updated version handles way better than this one, too.

  • Transavia PL-12 Airtruk 10.1 years ago

    @deimosrun Here you go. The only real problem I've had is that it tends to lose control if you nose down really hard. So just go easy on the stick when applying downward pitch, and also go easy on take-off too (it only takes a gentle pull on the stick with the flaps down).

  • I ran out of ideas 10.1 years ago

    Just go to google and type in "weird planes" or "unusual planes" and you get plenty of ideas.

  • WWII style boat plane. 10.1 years ago

    Aside from being a bit nose-heavy, this is a pretty good example of a flying boat. I like that it's not very complex, but still has a very pronounced flying boat shape.

  • Mark V Special Ops 10.1 years ago

    @KingDeadshot Whatever that link led to doesn't exist anymore. What was it about?

  • PL-12 Airtruck 10.1 years ago

    Very well done. I didn't have to change much to make it very stable. As is it flies well, but is slightly under-powered. I changed the horizontal stabilizers to symmetric , buried a small jet engine in the fuselage for a little extra oomf, and modified the tail booms so they attach a little differently. I also edited the flaps so they look a little more natural. I test flew with these changes and found that it flies remarkably well, with a relatively low stall speed of around 76mph. The only real issue I've had is that it doesn't like to fly inverted, as it will always try to right itself (Likely this is because the COM is well below the COL, and this actually makes the plane very stabe!). If you'd like me to upload my improved version, just let me know.

  • Vic Viper (Gradius Series) 10.1 years ago

    @ZFM99 Thanks!

  • Northrop Grumman XA-22 Thunder Stallion 10.1 years ago

    @Scriefers I don't know how I managed to nail that yaw control either. It just sort of came out that way. Happy accident I guess.

  • SSTOL Challenge 10.1 years ago

    Well, it's not technically cheating. I said you couldn't use rotating VTOL nozzles or make it a VTOL. But having rotating props is kind of cheap. That being said, this is a very interesting design, and definitely worth the lols. I had to move the forward wings up a notch though because the props kept breaking them when they rotated. Still, very cool concept, and will, at the very least, make it into the honorable mentions.

  • The Forwind seal of quality Challenge 10.1 years ago

    I got my entry in.

  • C 20 sky master 10.1 years ago

    @CopyCat Your face is unstable.

  • C 20 sky master 10.1 years ago

    Very interesting. I suggest giving it some longer landing gear, or raising the wings a bit so the engines clear the ground when it's landed.

  • mini quinjet 10.1 years ago

    Tends to roll pretty hard to the right, but other than that, this is a pretty sweet mini-build.

  • Northrop Grumman XA-22 Thunder Stallion 10.1 years ago

    @Scriefers I think it's going to be a long, long time before they fully replace the A-10 ~_^

  • F-118 Heatstroke II (SSTOL Challenge) 10.1 years ago

    Not terribly stable in flight, but it does meet all the criteria. Good entry.

  • Northrop Grumman XA-22 Thunder Stallion 10.1 years ago

    @Vikdesigns Glad to know I'm a contender :D

  • Northrop Grumman XA-22 Thunder Stallion 10.1 years ago

    @ZFM99 lol, well not "America" as a whole. Just little old me :D
