The CF-29E Super Leopard, unveiled in 2012, represented a comprehensive modernization of Canada’s long-serving Snow Leopard fleet by Avro Canada in collaboration with Starcrest United. Designed to extend the aircraft’s service life well into the 21st century, the E-model featured enlarged composite wings, taller twin vertical stabilizers, and a more powerful engine suite for improved performance at high altitudes. With expanded hardpoints capable of carrying up to 7,500 kg of modern ordnance, including AIM-120D AMRAAMs, AIM-132 ASRAAMs, and Starcrest’s SATA-76 Patriot and SCATRAM NEO munitions, the CF-29E transformed from a legacy interceptor into a true multirole air superiority and interceptor platform.
