Baritone

The Baritone is a medium bomber and reconnaisance aircraft of Padanian origin. Much like the CIR-made bombers of it's Tyrrhenian enemies, Baritones are very fast airplanes, being as fast as most fighters.

This aircraft is, obviously enough, a bomber, which can be told apart from reconaissance Baritones at a glance through one detail: bombers have dual 20 mm cannons mounted in the nose at both sides of the cockpit while recon ones omit them.

Thanks to it's performance, the Baritone is popular among the other allies of the Blessed Germanic Empire. While the pusher layout comes with it's typical disadvantages, this aircraft's long range ameliorates them, particularly in the East where it's mainly used in the reconaissance form.

The introduction of the Baritone at the time was a considerable escalation: Back then, the Free Network's mainstay attack aircraft were earlier versions of the Snail-Eater, and Sidehill Gougers were merely prototypes; so the Padanian air force at the time enjoyed near-impunity. While the development of newer aircraft, chief of them the Aquilone, has allowed the Confederation to catch up, the Baritone is still a powerful asset.
