The T10 was Keniss's first attempt at ground effect on a car, and it proved itself to be arguably the best of the ground effect cars. Over the course of the 1980 season, the V12 powered T10, nicknamed "The Black Panther" by drivers, scored 8 wins, 13 Podiums, and 11 out of 14 pole positions that season. It was, however, marred by reliability issues with the K3012 engine. The K3012 was a development of the earlier K2412 used in the T5-T8 series. It produced 600 horsepower in race trim, and an estimated 1,250 in Qualifying trim, making it by far the best non-turbocharged engine as well. However, the inconsistencies the car faced meant that Timote Waters lost the Drivers Championship by just 5 points, and Keniss the constructors by just 16 points. The car was modified slightly for 1981, and was renamed the T11.
