F-55CMF Aqua Serpent

Designation: F-55CMF Aqua Serpent [Carrier based multirole fighter]

Nickname: Black Mamba

Brief Lore:
  • This project began over 10 months ago after the release of my first fighter jet, the ACE - SE II XMF-138. It was intended to be a successor within the ACE series, to be designated as "ACE - Aqua Serpent".
After messing around with the original XMF-138 design the project was renamed to "ACE - Chromium Falcon" and given a variable geometry wing design and an all moving tail aka stabilators, instead of the conventional tail of the Scarlet Executioner.

  • This was done in order to add more maneuverability to the already heavy and sluggish fighter. After experimenting with the design some more, the project was abandoned due to the many failures that arose. Maneuverability was not positively affected but instead gotten worse as the aircraft had small wings for its size and would easily lose control upon changing the degree of sweep on the wings, rapidly spinning and then tumbling out of the sky - like a rock with wings.
    failure

  • It was far from the graceful, agile jet that was previously envisioned.
Now, with improved skills and a better understanding of aviation in general, I went back and took inspiration from the project, making this fighter as its namesake.

  • The F-55 Aqua Serpent features a variable geometry wing design and a gray paint scheme reminiscent of its abandoned predecessor. With unmatched speed and offensive capabilities, it carries the legacy of the ACE series of being a powerful force in any combat scenario.

Refueling

Refueling

Throttle down to 30% and deploy the air brakes (AG7). This should allow you to approach the tanker and catch the drogue at a decent speed. Adjust where necessary with throttle and trim input.
