The Stryker M1126 Infantry Carrier Vehicle is an 8×8 wheeled armored platform designed by the U.S. Army with an emphasis on high mobility, rapid deployment, and reduced logistical burden. It can transport an infantry squad into battle while providing fire support with weapons such as a 12.7 mm machine gun or a 40 mm automatic grenade launcher. Its modular design allows it to be quickly fitted with various protection and firepower upgrades according to mission needs. The SRAT II (Stryker Reactive Armor Tile II) suite is the second-generation explosive reactive armor developed specifically for the Stryker. Compared to earlier versions, it is lighter, offers broader coverage, and provides improved resistance against shaped-charge warheads, all while maintaining the mobility requirements of a wheeled vehicle. When paired with the Israeli-designed Trophy Active Protection System, the vehicle gains an additional defensive layer: Trophy’s radar detects incoming anti-tank munitions in real time and neutralizes them with a focused blast, greatly enhancing the Stryker’s survivability in high-threat environments.
