@Allstarship, no it shouldn't. Just because you spam the engines doesn't mean you'll go faster. I have literally slowed down my aircraft because I added an extra pair of engines. The amount of engines you have is part of the design process so it shouldn't be a restriction. Also note that the more engines, the more fuel consumption and the more fuel, a lot more weight which will slow you down.
