the Nine Lives and The Little Skipper from the 100th bomb group. SOME OF THE STORY: On christmas, after a successful bombing raid, the surviving bombers were returning to base. suddenly, behind them appeared BF-109s. as they were shooting, the pilots of the Nine Lives were killed, resulting in it drifting up. in The Little Skipper there was a thud, the pilots looked at eachother in confusion, then the plane got heavier. (im skipping to later) as they approached the snowy grass, they were pulling up zo hard they had to get down to brace. on impact, the Nine Lives was evaporated, as The Little Skipper came to a stop, it hit a house causing the tail to rip off. go to when 2 B17s flew piggyback for more info.
