Tupolev Tu-22 "Blinder" - Bomber version

82.2k SimplyPlain  4.0 years ago

As promised, Blinder "part deux" -the original version of the Tu-22 series before planes were modified (or built) to be missile carriers which fielded only a single Kh-22 cruise missile.

This version comes with a bomb bay holding 18 FAB-500 conventional drop bombs, to be dropped in 3 batches of 6. The Tu-22 could handle a decent payload, and was also suitable to carry a 9000 kg conventional bomb or a variety of nuclear weapons. It still has its remote controlled tail gun turret with a single 23 mm revolver cannon, and I added a camera view for the (quite useless) bombardier's position.

Controls;

AG1 Nose wheel unlock for taxi
AG2 Lights
AG3 Open/close bomb bay doors
AG4 Brake chute
AG5 Drop bomb batch 1
AG6 Drop bomb batch 2
AG7 Drop bomb batch 3
AG8 Deactivate to use tail turret (freezes the plane's pitch/yaw controls, switches on the gyroscope, and allows turret control with pitch/yaw).

Enjoy!

    @BaunD7711 don't think the old '22 had a rotary launcher, AFAIK... thanks for offering though.
