@SpletzerAvion or just go with the original way, and position the view and the cursor to get a grab on the handbrake's main hinge. Or, the handbrake stands from 3 parts, handle, lever, and a hinge rotator, so you can just take it off part to part.
@SpletzerAvion if you have fine tuner, then just multi select the parts that are in your way, till only the handbrake is visible (non transparent) then press the multi select button again, and now you can 'grab' the handbrake and move it easily

I just drink and building things... :D but i think the key is to find you'r own building profile and style as you see my planes wasn't so popular, and then i turned to the cars, (cos i know them better, and i always wanted to design cars). But numbers are not so important to me. I think you are a really skilled builder too :)
