T-17D

The T-17D is a single seat, twin engine attack aircraft. It was designed for CAS (close air support) and convoy assault missions. With efficient engines and a large amount of fuel, it can loiter above the battlefield for long periods of time.

SPECS

Top speed: [Max payload] 854 km/h (461 knots)

Activation Groups

  • AG1: Engine 1
  • AG2: Engine 2
  • AG3: Canopy
  • AG4: Master Arm
  • AG5: Extend Refueling Probe
  • AG6: Drop Pylons
  • AG7: Formation Lights
  • AG8: Strobe Lights

REFUELING

(Note: I would recommend setting the tanker speed to the maximum amount)

With Payoad:
On approach, use 50% throttle, 1/2 flaps, use trim as needed. Once you're less than a kilometer from the tanker, set throttle to 40%, and slow down to about 300 on the speed gauge. I would recommend using trim to adjust your pitch (using the stick will cause the back of the plane to wobble up and down a bit). I would also recommend using the refuel cam in order to easier see where the probe is in relation to the drogue. Then, just slowly get closer to the drogue, and make contact with the drogue.

Without Payload:
The procedure is the same, except for the throttle settings. Use 40% throttle, 1/2 flaps, and trim as needed for approach. Once you're a kilometer away from the tanker, set throttle to ~38% and slowly get closer to the tanker. Once you're about to make contact with the drogue, set throttle to ~35%.

LANDING

On approach, use 40% throttle. Once you're closer, set throttle to 20%, lower gear, and use the airbrakes until the velocity marker is just past the black section at the beginning of the runway. Once you're ~8 meters above the runway, cut throttle and use the airbrakes (try and keep the aircraft aircraft as level as possible until you're ~8 meters above the runway. When you cut throttle, pull up on the stick until you make contact with the runway).

Thanks to PlanariaLab for the HUD

I'm quite proud of this build, and I hope you enjoy flying it.
