The Bloodkite is Epic Engineering's entry into the Final Boss Challenge by RB107.
Boss Fight Scenario
Disgruntled rogue employees have stolen our newest top-secret project! Luckily, our tracking beacon is active. It seems like they have set a course directly to Jundroo HQ. Were they so impatient for the release of Simpleplanes 2 that they decided to pay them a visit?!?
If they are able to fire the 2 equipped bunker-busting cruise missiles at the development studio, the entire future of Jundroo, Simpleplanes 2, and the integrity of our community could be in danger!
You have to stop them! Shoot down the Bloodkite at all costs!
It won't be easy, though. With 3 stages of countermeasures, getting a lock on the target will be pretty tough. You'll only have the tracker to help you as the radar-resistant design will make our ground radar practically useless.
Dammit! Never mind, the radars are out of commission; they struck our sites with some of the payload already.
This aircraft is beyond the cutting edge of technology pilots. With the newest generation of EE-P5 reactor on board, this vehicle can power a total of 3 Freeman Laser Systems! Unheard of before now, be sure to take those things out before you fly over civilian areas to prevent collateral damage. Luckily, even with the overdrive feature, not all the lasers can be fired at once...as long as nobody finds a workaround...
Speaking of power, be careful not to lose sight of your target. Your opponent is also equipped with a Speed-Boost-Drive, they will probably try to gain some distance while switching countermeasure stages.
Pray that those employees are better technicians then pilots...you have to time to lose, get out there and shoot them down!
Design
The Bloodkite is a tailless flying wing with 2 turbofan engines. Upgraded with the SBD module, they are able to temporarily massively increase thrust thanks to the inbuilt EE-5P reactor. The aircraft features 3 separate bomb bays as well as 3 functional turrets.
Handling
While a fly-by-wire system has been added to increase stability, due to this being a tailless design, constant vigilance of your slip angle is required. The spoilers that aid in yaw control will help you keep your nose pointing where you want. Even so, this is still a large, heav,y and not particularly stable airframe.
