The -300 prototype left the Renton plant on January 17, 1984, and made its first flight on February 24, 1984. After receiving its flight certificate on November 14, 1984, USAir took delivery of the first aircraft on November 28 of that same year.As a very popular aircraft, Boeing received 252 orders in 1985, and more than a thousand during its production time. The 300 series remained in production until 1999 when the last aircraft was delivered to Air New Zealand on 17 December 1999, registration ZK-NGJ. In December 2008, Southwest Airlines selected a Boeing to upgrade its 737-300s with new instruments, hardware and software, to match all of its 737-700s. The 737-300 can be equipped with winglets from Boeing Aviation Partners. The 737-300 equipped with winglets is designated as -300SP (Special Performance). The -300 passengers can also be converted into a freighter version. There is also a Military version, used by some Air Forces, such as the Chilean one. It has been used as a Presidential Plane and has been used to transport Delegations to important Ceremonies, as happened in Rome for the Canonization of Father Alberto Hurtado in October 2005.

What is Aerolineas Argentinas?

Aerolíneas Argentinas, formally Aerolíneas Argentinas SA, is the state flag carrier of Argentina, and the country's largest airline. The airline was created in 1949, from the merger of Aeroposta Argentina (AA), Aviación del Litoral Fluvial Argentino (ALFA), Fleet Air Merchant Argentina (FAMA), and Western and Northern Zones of Aerolíneas Argentinas ( ZONDA), and began operations in December 1950. A consortium led by Iberia took control of the airline in 1990, and the Marsans Group acquired the company and its subsidiaries in 2001, after a period of serious financial difficulties that put the airline on the brink of closure. The airline was renationalized at the end of 2008. It is headquartered in Buenos Aires. The airline joined the SkyTeam alliance in August 2012; The airline's cargo division became a member of SkyTeam Cargo in November 2013.

Aerolíneas Argentinas and its former sister company Austral Líneas Aéreas operate from two hubs, both located in Buenos Aires: the Aeroparque Jorge Newbery and the Ministerio Pistarini International Airport. Its narrow-body fleet, used on domestic and regional routes, is made up of the Brazilian-made Embraer 190, as well as the Boeing 737-700, -800 and MAX 8, while intercontinental and transoceanic services are carried out on the Airbus wide body.
