on the main photo its should say CVN instead of CV since USS Beast is a nuclear powered aircraft carrier, thank you Monarchii for pointing it out ;)

The year is 2007,and Gridiron Aerospace wanted to make a new cargo jet with the unique design.
Projectants were looking for ideas left, right and center and evetually stumbled upon a quite strange plane: the Lockheed Corporation Flatbed, which has been canceled in mid 1980s in design study phase.

And they were about to make it into reality, with its maiden flight of the model prototype happening in 2012 and production in 2015.

The initial model prototype,FTRX-1,had a V-tail and boasted exceptional stability in flight despite having no vertical stabilizer.FTRX-2(which started flight tests from 2013 towards the beginning of the production),a full size airplane later added vertical stabilizers, together with reshaped fuselage, and canopy cockpit on top of the aircraft, like the B-47 Stratojet.

Both aircraft shared several things in common: flatbed configuration which could carry cargo,EW equipment or even weapons(which would be present on variants FE-216 and FB-217,respectively)and engines above the wings to reduce FOD.

The aircraft has 2 engines,each providing 150kN of thrust,and pushing the aircraft up close to 1100 kmh(roughly M 0.9)

205 aircraft have been made, divided into three variants, from which:

Cargo(86 aircraft)

AWACS,Electronic warfare variant(68 aircraft)

Bomber variant(51 aircraft)

Anti aircraft artillery(47 planned but scrapped due to the ineffectiveness of the prototype, its role was supposed to be defense against combat airplanes and cruise and ballistic missiles)

This aircraft has been made for Monarchii's Part Efficient[PEA] and Low Part Aircraft[LPA]series, aiming to provide the SP community with low part and realistic looking birds that do da UP

wanna check it out?press here

have a good time :)))

big indication of nuclear powered ship is the lack of a funnel usually, although some exceptions apply such as the er... Kirov-class Battlecruiser which has both standard and nuclear propulsion

should it not be CVN since it is a nuclear-powered aircraft carrier?
