Dive Bomber Challenge [CLOSED]

4,049 SchadeAircaftCompany  1.7 years ago

Been a while since my last challenge, since I can’t build my own planes right now because of a broken hand, might as well see what people can do.

Here’s the challenge, make a dive bomber, meaning it must be from the 1920s to 1940s design, props only too, no jets. Must have dive breaks, and a working trapeze if necessary. May be a replica or fictional.

Points goes as follows: 10 points for realism or creativity depending on replica or fictional, 10 points for flight characteristics, 10 points for details (VR cockpit would be nice but not necessary), and 10 points for description, either a brief history for replicas or story for fictional.

WINNERS
Well there were only 4 to choose from, but these are the overall scores and ranking of the aircraft.

1st Place: Junkers Ju-87 by JavierWorks. Overall: 34/40 Great simple replica, only really docked points for not being as detailed, but amazing trapeze system and great flyer.

2nd Place: CDB-32 Toryu by Khamsin. Overall: 26/40 Love the back story made for this, and the Japanese influence on it. Was docked for detail and flying characteristics, was more based on luck if you took off, but the dive brakes made for an excellent dive, and the piston was an ok solution.

3rd Place: Rk-1 Db by Simpleplanes25. Overall 11/40 Was a great flyer, but no dive brakes made the dive too fast and not controllable, no description to build a story also docked points, and not too much on details.

Rewards:
1st place-15 upvotes+1 spotlight (if possible)
2nd place-10 upvotes+1 spotlight (if possible)
3rd place-5 upvotes+1 spotlight (if possible)

Excited to see what you make. Deadline is extended to September 30th for more entries

Mines prettymuch done, just need to download this and attach the cockpit to the plane - was able to get dive brakes but not a trapeze, but my replacement method should suffice

@SchadeAircaftCompany Showing respect, I give at least one Upvote to every (decent) entry- upfront. And 10, 7, 5 upvotes or 12,8, 6 upvotes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places. if possible, I give a spotlight (impossible to do so, if the person has higher points than you). I follow the nice builders too,

@SchadeAircaftCompany Replica maybe. Fictional designs attract less updoots
