The A-10 Thunderbolt II, nicknamed the "Warthog", is a ground attack aircraft developed by the United States, specializing in tanks, armored vehicles and heavy ground targets. Introduced in the 1970s, the A-10 is designed around the GAU-8/A Avenger 30mm cannon—a seven-barrel rotating gun capable of tearing apart tanks with just a few rounds.
