The A-10 Thunderbolt II, nicknamed the "Warthog", is a ground attack aircraft developed by the United States, specializing in tanks, armored vehicles and heavy ground targets. Introduced in the 1970s, the A-10 is designed around the GAU-8/A Avenger 30mm cannon—a seven-barrel rotating gun capable of tearing apart tanks with just a few rounds.
The aircraft's fuselage is covered with "Titanium Bathtub" titanium armor, which is strong enough to withstand low-level fire from 23mm anti-aircraft guns. Twin TF34 turbofan engines mounted above the tail wings reduce the risk of ground hits and maintain the ability to fly even when hit by heavy fire. Maximum speed is about 874 km/h, service ceiling is 13,700 m, operating range is more than 1,000 km without refueling.
The A-10 has 11 hardpoints, carrying AGM-65 Maverick missiles, smart bombs, cluster bombs, rockets, and even auxiliary fuel tanks. Strengths: slow, low-flying, long-range over the battlefield, easy to maintain and repair at the front. Despite its classic design, the A-10 has survived many proposals for decommissioning because of its high combat effectiveness—especially in the Iraq, Afghanistan, and Syria campaigns.
Conclusion: The A-10 is not beautiful, not fast, but born to survive and destroy armored targets. It is a true "flying tank", representing the American philosophy of ground warfare: slow, steady, and brutal.
I tried to copy but the flight performance is not very good, I hope everyone understands.
