Brief Information / Wiki

The Lockheed F-104 Starfighter is an American single-engine, supersonic interceptor aircraft which became widely used as a fighter-bomber during the Cold War. Initially a day fighter, it was developed into an all-weather fighter in the late 1960s.

It was originally developed by Lockheed for the United States Air Force (USAF), but was later produced by several other nations, seeing widespread service outside the United States.

One of the Century Series of fighter aircraft, it was operated by the air forces of more than a dozen nations from 1958 to 2004. Its design team was led by Kelly Johnson, who contributed to the development of the Lockheed P-38 Lightning, Lockheed U-2, Lockheed SR-71 Blackbird, and other Lockheed aircraft.

F-104C

A fighter-bomber for USAF Tactical Air Command, the F-104C had improved fire-control radar (AN/ASG-14T-2), one centerline and two pylons under each wing (for a total of five), and the ability to carry one Mk 28 or Mk 43 nuclear weapon on the centerline pylon.

The F-104C also had in-flight refueling capability. Seventy-seven F-104Cs were built. On 14 December 1959, an F-104C set a world altitude record of 103,389 ft (31,513 m).

Armament

  • 2x AIM-9 Sidewinder

  • 2x AIM-120 AMRAAM

Scrap Queen Avril Mead's F-104C

An aircraft based on an F-104C that can be likened to an air-drag racer or even Icarus. Built using parts taken from an aircraft graveyard, it was brought to life by Avril, her grandfather, and her grandfather's war buddies in a process which took eight years. Avril first flew it in hope of seeing the dark blue sky that her grandfather longed for. Because the aircraft is not fitted with weapons or an IFF (Identification Friend of Foe) system, it can only be used in Free Flight mode.

Controls

They are same as usual. VTOL down for flaps - 50% for takeoff and full for landing. To land, press AG4 (also can be used for airborne levelling) for gyro stabilizer, and make a soft landing. Use brakes for airbrakes (yes, funktreed propietary airbrakes)

Activation Groups

  • AG1 for emergency arrestor hook (there's a gimmick, right?)

  • AG2 to activate weapons.

  • AG4 for airborne gyro levelling (can open main gear door lights upon landing)

  • AG5 for nose cone open

  • AG6 for parachute (optional)

  • AG8 for afterburners

Side Notes

Essentially the previous F-104J Eiko I posted last night. And yes, here it is; custom thumbnails! I just need a PC for this, though I build planes mainly on mobile. Special thanks to asteroidbook345 for making me realize that the F-104's horizontal stabilizers did not have control surfaces. And yes, another Ace Combat post. Anyways, i'll see you on the next build, and oh, Happy 4th of July to the United States! Stay safe and GOD BLESS you all. Aim high, comrades! Nipah~
