Piston Powered Tractor

3,130 UP4014X  1.9 years ago

I originally made this shortly after I made my oscillating engine but it looked WAY different and more ugly.

Thanks to @PilotBug I got the thought of continuing the tractor and finally finish it.

I give you, the finish product of my idea. Without PilotBug, I wouldn’t have had the reason to finish it.

This tractor is based off of miniature Cracker steam locomotives, and has been painted to look like it was someone’s project and experiment. To me, this was a experiment. I had no example of a geared piston powered vehicle, so I decided to give it a try, and it works. Poorly, but it works.

All instructions are in the craft instructions.

And yes, I made it to be driven in VR. I have little understanding of the VR system however, so if there are any issues, please tell me in the comments.

@UP4014X I will say this is pretty good.
I like how it even has vr compatibility, and more functionality than what I initially thought
    Good job and thanks

@UP4014X my trick is to synk the output/crankshaft with the pistons with FT to avoid stall, and in the process made the input not locked to the speed but make it locked to output (i.e. more like how throttlr works irl), which make it more adaptable

Of course make the linkages sturdier will help too

Pretty sick engines! @Johnnyynf Personally with my engines I like building slower steam engines. Also, do you have tips to give? I know quite a bit, but I still have some issues building engines such as not being able to put the piston at 100% power without it “stalling”

It is indeed a plane @MrCOPTY you can not argue with the game. It is all-knowing and powerful.

@PilotBug here is what you requested, I would of made a steam locomotive, but the lack of rails, difficulty, and the fact that I made this way before but never finished it are the reasons why I made a tractor.
