Development – Titan Test Team "Saber"

The RX-89NA Eriene was developed by the Titans' internal test division known as Test Team "Saber," a unit tasked with experimenting on mobile suits under extreme and unconventional conditions. Eriene was built specifically for cold-weather operations, engineered to perform in snowy terrain and maintain high responsiveness in sensor-obstructed environments.

Its frame was based on incomplete combat data from the RX-78NT-1 “Alex,” and its field testing was overseen directly by pilot-engineer Lt. Eriana Nathlan. The trials were conducted in complete secrecy, far from frontline attention.

Frostline Intercept & Disappearance

As the Titans began to collapse near the end of the Gryps War, the Eriene was scheduled for front-line deployment. However, during its transport to a northern base, the unit was ambushed by an unsanctioned Earth Federation detachment in a classified operation later dubbed the Frostline Intercept.

The RX-89NA was stolen. Eriana vanished.

Defection & Shadow Operations

Officially listed as KIA, Eriana had in fact survived—and defected. Her loyalty to the Titans was shattered after witnessing the faction’s cruelty firsthand, including from her own superiors within Team Saber.

Gundam Eriene, stripped of its ID and repainted in resistance colors, saw limited action with anti-Titan groups operating in remote sectors. Though hidden, its OS quietly retained her biometric sync data—waiting.

UC 0089 – Reunion

Years later, with the emergence of Cold Ashe's Division, an autonomous unit dedicated to containment of rogue remnants and off-grid operations, Eriana resurfaced as a senior systems analyst. During a routine inspection of a deep-storage depot in a frozen region, she stumbled upon a dormant mobile suit buried under ice.

It was Eriene Gundam.

The moment she touched its main console, the OS came online—no authentication required. It remembered her.

Current Status – Cold Ashe's Division

Returned to operational duty under Cold Ashe's Division, the RX-89NA Eriene has been upgraded with modern stabilizers, advanced targeting modules, adaptive thermal armor,and New V Fin as symbol of Rebirth for Redemption.

No longer a weapon of the Titans, Eriene stands as a symbol of redemption—a machine from the past, reborn with a new purpose, piloted by someone who now fights not out of obedience, but out of conviction.

Fun Fact: Gundam Eriene was named after the "goddess of Peace" to remember that Ms should be used for Peace keeper (like UN).
