I was gently stirred from my nap as the dark tank pitched upwards, and the water currents inside laid me onto my back. Shortly after that, a bright strip of light appeared, quickly growing to fill my entire field of view. I strained my eyelids open, but they barely moved and revealed nothing more than a white ceiling with blotchy flashing patterns.

Two figures appeared, dressed as if they were trying to camouflage themselves against the bright background. Despite my lack of vision, they were undeniably human. They looked at each other and made remarks towards my motionless body. Their words were incomprehensible as the water cupped its hands around my ears, drowning out the conversation.

Then, another figure appeared, but this one was different. I could not make out its face, but there was something comforting about its presence. I tried to face it as it circled around my still body, but only my eyeballs moved. It eventually settled to my right, and dipped its right hand into the water. I managed to move my cheeks and eyebrows in response.

Suddenly, the hand disappeared from the water. It happened so quickly, I did not feel any shock. Instead, the wake it left behind caressed my face, promising me that the calming figure would see me again.

Finally, the doors on the tank slid shut. The bright patterns disappeared into the darkness, and I fell asleep.
