The Katzbalger is one of two major single-engined fighters fielded by the Blessed Germanic Empire. This aircraft is an excellent interceptor, with 3 20 mm cannons and 4 13 mm machine guns, high maneouverability and good speed and handling, this aircraft is a worthy sucessor of the most iconic German fighters of both world wars, and a great match for the fighters of the rivals of the Empire, be they Cacalambris, Explosive Cyclogenesis, Aquilones...
The Blessed Germanic Empire was born from the strife caused in Central Europe during the times of the Crumbling, which saw the rise of xenophobic and identitarian groups in much of Europe in response to climate displacements. In this environment, the predecessors to the Blessed Germanic Empire sought to create a religious European society, based on Christianity as a social glue. In contrast, their rivals put an emphasis on racial identity and purity, and in the struggle between the two, were forced Northwards or Southwest to join what became Nova Evropa.
Currently, the Empire is in it's high point, but it is undergoing turmoil as both the SFR and the Free Network threaten to unravel the Empire's testamental society. The former in particular has supported breakaway statelets in the West, collectively known as the German Republics; while the latter inspires, supplies and shelters revolutionaries.
