The X-TR.AS-155 is a long-range air defense missile system developed by the Reichswehr Innovationszentrum for the purpose of intercepting bombers and cruise missiles.
Concerns about other countries having cruise missiles or heavy bombers led engineers to develop the AS-155 missile system. An upgraded version of the AS-150 missile but larger and able to lock on to a target when the missile is fooled by a heat trap (Flare) or radar trap (Chaff), it demonstrated its power in tests and was quickly produced and put into use.
