The F-111C often referred to as the “aardvark”, or by Australian forces as the “pig” is a tactical strike aircraft originally made during the Vietnam war as a successor to the F-105 thunder chief along with being the first variable geometry military aircraft to enter full production. The C variant specifically was designed and produced by General dynamics to suit Australian specifications and subsequently adopted into service in 1963. Along the way being modernised in the 1980s and finally retired in 2010 to make way for more super Hornets.

This particular paint job symbolised the 30th anniversary of the F-111C entering service with the RAAF

Some things are fixed on this aircraft like it’s tendency to roll to port for no apparent reason
