steam car

Theres not many other ways of going 50mph that will terrify you as much as a steam car. No seatbelt, no suspension and a boiler full of hot steam make for quite the ride.

This vehicle works on a double boiler system, with a condenser and pump powered by the engine that takes hot steam coming out of the cylinder, condenses it back into water and pumps it back into the boiler. This allows the vehicle to reuse the same water over and over, allowing for much longer travels. It is propane fired with a tank hidden under the seat, as propane is much cleaner, safer and easier to run than coal.

Operation is as follows:

-Trim all the way up to set parking brake.

AG1 and throttle up to turn on burners under the boiler.

-AG2 and VTOL up no more than one notch to start engine, adjust slightly for smooth idle.

AG1 off, AG3 on and throttle up to go. Dont forget to release the parking brake by adjusting trim back to center.

AG4 and trim to lift boiler hatch. Make sure AG8 is off because the parking brake operates by trim as well.

Tips: Forces caused by the moving parts and thrust from the burners (cuz theyre vtol nozzles) causes the vehicle to be not completely stable. It wont sit still without the parking brake on, and it doesnt drive in a very straight line. It handles okay at moderate speeds, and will reach 100+ but good luck, its an intense ride. Also if you hit a bump right if might spin out of control, like reallllly out of control, so keep it on flat ground if you can.

I’m very happy with this build but I will continue to improve on it, in the mean time enjoy chugging away, dont get scalded by superheated steam!
