@BlackhattAircraft whats odd about the p51 is that it was powered by the Packard V-1650-7, witch was a rip off of the Merlin but the merlin was a lot more powerful compaired to the packard

@BlackhattAircraft its why the raf didn't allow the p51 until it was to late because they arrived at such a time as the war was about to end

@BlackhattAircraft the p51 was a plane that was intended for war unlike the spit fire which was originally intended for racing

@BlackhattAircraft no the British air force or raf only allowed the p51s just as the war ended there for the only German plane's that got shot down in europe by American planes where right at the end of the war as in a few hours before the war ended and they could barely handle a super marine spitfire thats as fast and more manoeuvrable

@smasher, I didn't mean to treat you like a child and The US did use P-51 in over Europe, it was just late in the war, I understand that they used Super Marine Spit Fires over Europe. However, They also used B-17 Flying fortresses, P-47 thunderbolts, P-51 Mustangs, and more.

@BlackhattAircraft and i already know the one piece of history you tried to tell me . heres one part that most Americans get wrong just like they say they were in ww2 from the start even though its actually they joined the war 3years into the war and heres another misconception P-51 mustangs are WW2 Prop planes used over Europe as bomber Bomber escorts and Attack fighters ) the Americans who joined the war didn't use p51 mustangs in Europe the American pilots where trained to fly super marine spit fires originally called sea fires and only flew spit fires in europe
