The SP-37-100

Lore

In 1944, after the wright offensive, the world was aware of the threat of nuclear weapons. In the US, Gustav Schneider and Heinrich Packendorff were given the choice between prosecution and working for the americans. They chose the later and with already existing captured Japanese designs and their own experiences with jet engines from the SP-32 and carrier-based Aircraft from the SP-33 (A-Variant) they designed a naval ground attack Aircraft powered by 3 jet engines to counter soviet Ships and Ground forces. The US gave their Company a hastily-built production site in northeast Texas for production. In just half a year a prototype was built and tested by Packendorff himself. The Flying characteristics were good enough, although the armament was weaker than expected. Soon the Armament was upgraded with american versions of the german 2,5cm Flakzwilling 39 and 4 of them were put in a “turret”-like thing on the nose and the number of rockets was increased to 6. After another testing phase with shots fired on test targets Schneider and Packendorff were satisfied with the results. While Schneider modified the engines Packendorff went to the Navy. The engine modification was successful and each engine got an afterburner that activates once the throttle is above 50%. Packendorff later got to Pilot one of the SP-37s while in the Navy, which is this plane.
