The P-25 Shrike is a fictional late war escort fighter designed to be more adept at dogfighting compared to the NI-18 Dove. This is a redesign of the P-20 Cardinal in terms of general form factor. Unlike the Cardinal, the Shrike's performance is tailored towards semi-realism using Funky Trees expressions.

The Shrike incorporates an electrical system, range and endurance information displays, and a rudimentary stability system. It is somewhat unrealistic for the time period of the challenge due to all of the technology, but it does not give it an unfair advantage to adversaries.



Cockpit Interior


The Shrike's design focuses on range and longevity at high altitudes so it can keep up with long range bombers. There are custom gauges on the top left that monitor the maximum range in real time. Due to some bug with the rate function, the gauges will become erratic at certain fuel states below 75%. Use AG3 to disable them when that happens.

Flaps are not needed for taking off due to the low wing loading.

The Shrike is capable of landing on the USS Beast despite not having an arrester hook,

For landing, flaps should be set to full and speed should be around 170 to 190 kph.

The main battery only has 1200 electric charge. Running the engine at high power recharges it. Using lights and the display drain it faster. If the charge reaches 0 then the engine will shut down completely and will not restart. This is because auxilary batteries cannot provide enough electricity for the spark plugs. Disable AG8 on the ground to stop electricity use.

There is a centerline pylon for weapons only. Adding fuel will disrupt the range calculations and make them inaccurate.
