The i-153 fighter was designed by Aleksi cicibakov, a member of the polikarpov group, and was put into operation at the end of 1938. It participated in the air battle between Japan and the Soviet Union during the military conflict in nomonkan and the battle in the early stage of the Soviet Union's patriotic war. The plane had four machine guns and four 25 pound bombs.
