Today I made the SAI IFTL-22 Mandala light attack advanced trainer aircraft as a subsonic light attack advanced trainer jet. This aircraft is a design from the L-39NG Fox which I studied the design for fighter pilot training missions and limited military operation simulations. Well, because I made it special, you can do air attack and air combat simulations.

SAI IFTL-22 Mandala

Sumatera Aviation Industries (SAI) IFTL-22 Mandala is a light attack advanced training aircraft for training prospective pilots and the ability to simulate air combat and air attacks as training for prospective air force pilots, especially Indonesian Air Force fighter pilots.

Varian IFTL-22 Mandala

IFTL-22A

IFTL-22A initial upgrade for pilot training in basic flight training for basic mabubet with heat resistant glass cockpit better component structure with suitable capability for jet aerobatics good for training new pilot candidates before going to the next level.

IFTL-22B

The IFTL-22 B variant can be upgraded with initial modifications to include aircraft structure weapons and heat-resistant components, as well as heat-resistant cockpit glass, better digital avionics, and an integrated combat training system with a maximum load of 370 kg, including GBU-10 small bombs, Brimstone missiles, or 12.7 mm gun pods, or IRIS-T and Mica missiles.

Variant IFTL-22C

Full upgrade variant with better defense capabilities where the aircraft structure components are upgraded from both variants such as the addition of new heat-resistant and anti-radiation advanced radar cockpit glass, new engine with better weapon capacity, new digital avionics, fly-by-wire system using AI to lighten the crew's work, can be used for multi-missions, can be adjusted for student pilots and Indonesian Air Force flight instructors, in addition there is an increase in the fuel tank on the wing if it is to be removed.

Variant FA-22M Block-80

The FA-22M Mandala variant is a lightweight fighter version with improved aircraft structure, powerful engines, better defense, all structures are coated with carbon fiber and bulletproof materials, including bulletproof heat-resistant cockpit glass to protect the pilot and co-pilot, updated avionics with a digital system using a Martin Baker MK-62 ejection cockpit seat with an AI system that can lighten the pilot's workload and provide limited battlefield situations, both dogfights or CAS because this aircraft is capable of being upgraded to carry 400 kg of weapons.

Engine and radar

The IFTL-22 Mandala aircraft uses the Honeywell F124-GA-200 engine, the same engine as the M-346 FA, as the main propulsion engine to save fuel and reduce carbon emissions by 10%.

For this aircraft radar, it uses the Grifo-346 AESA integrated radar as a special radar on the IFTL-22 Mandala aircraft as a simulation of both reconnaissance and limited combat in training missions.

Capacity and Composition
This aircraft is operated by 2 pilots, 1 student pilot and 1 combat instructor pilot because this aircraft can also be used as a cheap platform and can be adapted to Indonesia's needs because it is equipped with rust-resistant materials.
