An-24 "Coke" was a Soviet civilian turboprop transport aircraft, also sold to the Soviet military for transport and passenger transport. The successor model is the An-26 Curly Hair, which is a high-performance military tactical transport aircraft. The An-24 is a short/medium range twin engine turboprop transport aircraft developed by the Antonov Design Group of the former Soviet Union. It was designed to be used at airports with soil runways and was originally intended to carry 32-40 passengers, but the prototype aircraft was changed to have 44 seats during its maiden flight. There are two types of production aircraft: passenger planes and cargo planes, and passenger planes can also be easily converted into dual-use passenger and cargo planes. This aircraft is designed to replace transport aircraft with piston engines on domestic routes. An-24 is similar to the Dutch "friendship" (F-27)
