1949 XVI Royalist

NOT my platinum build
For General360's Alternate WW2RP

The royalist was at the time the fastest jet in service with commonwealth and imperial air forces.
It has 4 50 calibre machine guns in the wings, 4 high explosive armour peircing firing 30mm cannons and a rapid fire 50mm cannon in the nose, aswell as its huge arsenal of unguided rockets

It was truly a formidable fighter, it could reach 900mph in a dive and was extremely manouverable for its era.

300,000 examples were built and the aircraft made over 8000 enemy aircraft kills in its first month of service whilst losing only 39 friendly aircraft (big difference) that were mostly lost due to pilot error (it was faster than anything they had flown before and most of them didn't like the fact that the planes landing approach was typically very fast....)

Anyway... It was used in all commonwealth air forces and won almost every battle it fought in.

Enjoy.

50mm cannon? That is a bit extreme for WW2 much less today. The A-10 warthog has a 30mm and that shreds modern tanks, much less from WW2. Also a .50 caliber is 13mm
