Auto Credit Based on RodWan's Northrop Grumman F-14A Tomcat VF-14

In the late 1960’s the US Air Force and Navy where looking for a new fighter to replace the F-4e Phantom II. To save taxpayers money they made it so both used by the US Air Force and Navy to use same platform. The TFX became the F-111 Ardvark. But it was outright rejected by the Navy them self’s. So Grumman started developing a fighter for the Navy without been asked. The Navy saw it and said continue but it has to fit perimeters. Then the Navy held the VFX program and Grumman won and the Tomcat was born.
