The Bougainville Aircraft Corporation FS-21 Pisuwe is a Papua New Guinean single-seat, twin-engine, multirole fighter aircraft designed by Bougainville Aircraft Corporation. The aircraft made it's maiden flight in 1978 and was placed into service with the Papua New Guinea Defence Force in 1984.

DEVELOPMENT

Between 1976, the Papua New Guinea Defence Force needed a new fighter aircraft for multirole missions. Bougainville Aircraft Corporation, began to design a multirole fighter aircraft that is capable of operating in multirole missions.

At the start of 1978, after many developments and constructions of the prototype, the first prototype aircraft rolled off the hangar, and conducted it's maiden flight. After 6 years of testings, the aircraft was eventually accepted into Papua New Guinea Defence Force service — with the first 2 batches of FS-21 Pisuwe entered service on 1984. Final batches were recieved in 1986.

In total, all 8 are in service with the Papua New Guinea Defence Force.
