Airbus A340 is a four-engine long-range dual-aisle wide-body passenger aircraft manufactured by European Airbus. The basic design is similar to that of a twin-engine Airbus A330, but the engine has two more engines equipped with a total of four units. The A340 was originally designed to compete with the Boeing 747 on long-range routes. The A340 has less passenger capacity and is suitable for routes with low long-distance passenger traffic. However, it was later to compete with the Boeing 777 aircraft for the remote and ultra-remote aircraft market. One of its initial models, the A340-300, was named 5APU. The reason was that the CFM-56-5C engine hanging under its wing was too small compared to the GE-90 series used by the Boeing 777, the PW4000 series, and the Trent series.(139kn-151kn), the push ratio is also small, which is like hanging four APUs(auxiliary power units, used to provide extra air, and hence the name of the tail of APU). Because the A340-600's fuselage is very long, it is also called "French long stick."
