Link to Entwicklung E-100 Ausf. B
Main description
The Entwicklung E-100 Ausf. B (P) is a prototype version of the Entwicklung E-100 with the Ausf. B variant. This version would be designed as a prototype version with the 10.5cm cannon to test out the turret and its components, and to also be in trials to see if it can withstand hits. Unfortunatly however, much like the Tiger 2 (P), it would have the problems of a big shot trap and is harder to produce rather compared to the Henschelturm turret design. However although this turret design was scrapped, one Entwicklung E-100 Ausf. B (P), numbered 503 and being nicknamed "Wodan". This particular tank would end up serving as a command tank to other E-100 tanks at the time.
"503, Wodan"
Although this prototype tank was planned to be scrapped, it ended up serving as a command tank instead for other Entwicklung E-100. During early 1946, 503 would participate in a battle between Allied tanks, alongside other E-100 tanks. 503 sustained many hits from these Allied tanks but was under attack by Allied fighter bombers. According to reports, there were about 3 of these ambush bombings before the 4th one would eventually critically damage their tank, hitting the engine and mobility killing it.
503 would still fight on, but had to abandon tank after a fire broke out a while later.
The remmanants of this particular tank would be later scrapped after capture, albeit major parts were saved, such as:
1. The 10.5cm cannon, now on display in a museum
2. The turret, saved as a war trophy by the British and now moved to a museum
