a T-55EH scouting an abandoned hotel complex near the parameter of BARRIER - 2005
silly stupid lore
in 1962 Azer acquired 150 retired Soviet T-55 tanks, found they were not great to their standards, and modified them with NATO parts and ERA. the tanks were nicknamed Mach from one of the designers children (they were looking at a plane). T-55EHs served Azer without combat for a while. then the USA invaded Azer in 1993 for oil like we have done with every middle eastern nation. these tanks did really well against most of the United States older tanks, then Abrams showed up and their numbers dropped like flies. 1-3 KD for Machs btw. after Azer became owned by the US, these tanks remained with Azer's puppet government. through 2000-2004 Machs were used as riot control (because ofc they were). if you have seen any of my other posts that take place in Azer you know what happens in 2004, mass breeches of you know what from rioters and the sussy train wreck, that hasnt been posted and will not be, (if i say sussy again im shooting myself) caused tanks to be badly needed to help stop what is going on and help people evacuate safely. they lost, like every other aircraft, tank, train, APC, armored car, infantry units, helicopters, the list goes on for like a mile. after getting nuked and stuff whoever was left in Azer just ended up getting access to tanks as nobody was going to stop them. so they just ended up becoming another thing that just aimlessly roams the wasteland of Azer. till 2020 that is when the United States came back to try and clear the mess they caused and restart Azer again. to the Army these tanks just became another nuisance to shoot at. most survivors and whoever was left were not experienced with tanks. and then the soviets showed up in 2023 (they didnt break up in 1991) to see if they can get in with some of the action. both sides used Machs against each other, as both were broke after SOMEBODY caused the great depression 2.0 (a worse, global depression that started in 2020) during their term. throughout their service lifes (and beyond that) Machs became a key role in Azers early history, and in their later life's a nuisance that just wont die.
creddit
the original T-55 belongs to T10M
issues with the turret were fixed thanks to MartennLockkenn
the gun came from dekanii's M60
the MG most likely originates from a WCAC tank
oh and these tanks are not allowed near furry conventions thanks to "incidents", dont ask that is canon.
