Type 5 Katana HMC

The Type 5 Katana HMC is an advanced 120mm dual mortar system designed to provide indirect and if need be direct fire support for the Japanese military. Plans are to deploy the system on both the Samurai and Katana vehicles.
It carries 90 rds firing up to 26 rds per minute and is capable of a TOT (time on target) of 14 rds.
It is also capable of firing Strix guided 120mm top attack rds designed to engage armor.
It is direct fire point and shoot capable as well as instant firing shoot and scoot.
It is armored to withstand 30mm APFSDS in frontal arc and carries a DROIDz ADS package. All this makes it quite survivable should it end up in a direct fire mission.
